| Thanx for the info Moocow. My mother was a nurse for 33 years so I generally Accept/trust others in the profesion. I will be asking these questions and more when I go back. My pain in my liver has subsided since the 2nd booster. So I'm hoping that it was just a side effect. I think their reasoning for not giving a hep c screen was that they wanted someone there to discuss the situation ie Psychologist(?). they did for the HIV test. Don't know if it would be the same individual(?).

| I went in to a free clinic for a general std testing including a HIV test. They offered a Hep B VAccination so I took it. There was know special reason. At the time they wouldn't do a Hep C test. My last Hep B booster will be in January. I have not been tested or immunized for HepA or Hep C.
It makes no sense to me that you were offered a HepB vaccine, yet no A. If they were giving out Hep vaccines, ask them why they didn't do both.
Secondly, ask them why they are refusing to screen you for Hep A, B and C antibodies- the screening is cheap, there is no reason not to test you, yet test you for HIV???
Due to the fact you are having upper right quadrant pain, I would definitely make noise about a Hep screen (for all the antibodies, A, B & C)
There is no vaccine for HepC.

| I am no doctor. I don't think you would get a false possitive for that. Even though they are all called hepatitis. Hepatitis means liver disease. It a generic word. Hep. A,B,and C are all totally different. Different virus'.
I don't know about the vacine causing liver pain but I do know thar Hep C does. It kinda feels like the liver is too big for the ribcage.

| I'm just curious, but maybe I could answer your question(s) if you could answer mine:
Why were you given a HepB vaccination and were you given a HepA vaccination also? What was the reason?

| Hello I don't know if I have Hep C, But I was wondering I am on my second Hep B vaccination and was wondering will this give a false positive for Hep C? Also I am having pain in my liver area for the past few months. Is this a side effect of Hep B vaccine?
