I was just thinking about healthy eating for maintaining a healing post tx liver, thought that this was a good read.
A "bump" up for those that missed it.

Very interesting link. Thank you. I finished treatment 3 weeks ago and had excruciating heartburn the last month. I finally broke down and asked doc for a proton pump inhibitor for relief. I stopped that cold turkey 4 or 5 days after treatment ended.
I thought that the ribavirin had a lactic acid base and that what was causing it, but now I can't find that info anywhere, but I could swear I read it back then. My digestion is nowhere near back to normal, and I am eating spinach, greens, yogurt, grilled chicken, fish. If I splurge and eat too much, a/k/a stuffing myself, the discomfort comes back. I found a chart of mostly alkaline foods, eating small meals, and trying and get back to normal. I felt like ribavirin burned my esophagus. I see my doc the beginning of August and hope I am back to normal by then.
But I am virus free!!!

Hey Matt,
Thanks a lot for the link. I found very informative information. I have been nauseated and diarrheatic for a few days now. I have had terrible indigestion, gas and heartburn. It gets better and then gets worse again. I am so afraid to eat anything. I usually eat healthy but last week I went on a food bender with my grandson. I ate things that normally I would not eat. I even ate candy and I go for years without eating candy. That is when all of this sickness began. For three weeks I was taking my meds and had no problems. Then my stomach turned against me. Now I'm being very cautious about what I eat. I'm going back to the fruits and vegetables and juicing and eating fish and other seafood more. Again thanks for the link.
