Thanks from me too, Wayne, I`ve just been reading it. Seems like a very sensible approach to good nutrition, and really it applies for everyone not only for people with Hep C. It`s broadly speaking the sort of diet I try to follow and it becomes a way of life rather than a faddy and hard to follow diet.
Great to hear how well your treatment is going, and your side effects sound typical of ribavirin. Looking forward to seeing your next labs!
Well done Tim, that`s quite an achievement to drop so much weight, and it doesn`t surprise me that you were able to do that by cutting out those unnecessary foods. I find my weight stays very even just by following a healthy diet and I don`t deny myself occasional treats either.
Hi Matt, I was admiring Wayne`s avator as well, it makes me smile every time I see it!

Tim - Doesn't sound odd, at all. Seems to me a lot of blessings come disguised as something else. They can be placed right in front of you, but most of us don't see them until we are ready.
Matt - Treatment is going well. Winding up week 6. Side effects are the usual: fatigue, itching and insomnia. I attribute most of that to the riba; those on the non-riba combo seem to be faring a bit better, sx-wise. 4 week labs showed normal liver enzymes, almost a 5 log drop in VL to 62 IU/mL, AFP cut in half, bilirubin spiked (itching?) and Hb low, but not dangerously so. All in all, it's working and I'm a happy boy! Thoroughly convinced I'm going to beat this sucker. ;)

Hey Wayne
I really enjoyed reading that link, its genuinely true and a very balanced way to look at how we eat. Not one of those pie in the sky views/diet that are so hard to adhere to that you don't even bother.
Wayne, love your Avatar, how is things going on the new treatment?

Hi Wayne,
Thanks for the link, that was an enjoyable read. Eating healthy need not be self-denial or "punishment" but just plainly a straight-forward simple strategy for taking care of the body, for the brief time that we get to use it. By reducing intake of fatty, salty and sugary foods, plus a modest increase of physical activity I was able to drop 50 very unwanted pounds of body fat in a little over a year.
It may sound odd, but being dx'd with Hep C may have been a 'blessing-in-disguise', as it motivated me to deal with the obesity issue.

After spending untold bucks on supplements through the years and finally realizing that most of it was a waste, IMHO, the following article struck a chord...
