Hello Lisa, I think that`s very good advice and thanks for bringing this subject up. I must say the improvement you`re noticing in your skin says a lot!
Most of us tend to consume so much sugar without really being aware of it, and to cut out as much as we can from our diets makes a lot of sense to me, given that we all want to do our best for our livers (and our weight!), no matter whether we`ve achieved SVR or not, it`s an ongoing concern.
I do my best to avoid sugar, and I agree with Iris (hello!) that the cravings for sweet things do wear off very quickly once your taste buds have adjusted. I have to admit though that I have a weakness for chocolate, especially if I`m feeling stressed. So I`m working on other ways to deal with stress apart from comfort eating!

I cut all sugar from my diet several years ago and was astonished that any cravings for sugar were gone in about three days. Unfortunately it has crept back into my life. ..ice cream is just tooooooooo good! But, I didn't start drinking the sodas anymore, switched that up for sparkling water. Drink coffee black too, so little changes have helped take the load off, also I try not to consume products that have high fructose corn syrup in it. Seems sodas gave me heartburn and I suspect the HFCS was the culprit

Good advice, Lisa. While I would have difficulty in removing all sugars from my diet, it would be prudent to reduce it. Who knows, with some work it may be possible to change my ways. Right now I'm off to get another cup of coffee, with my Dunkin Donuts Extra sweet creamer. I'll remenber your advice though and cut back this time!

The last week I have ditched sugar completely, in any form from processed foods to junk food, soda drinks etc.
Sugar is very tough on the liver and skin, I thought I would share the benefits of ditching it!
My skin had lots of problems and allergies from spots to redness, and eczema. I am not sure about the eczema, if the medicine or the diet changes are doing the work, but lets just say the lack of sugar has given my skin a healthy and balanced hue. That is not bad for someone that is prone to get attacks of strawberry face!
I lost a bit of weight, now we all like a bit of weight loss.
My taste buds have changed. I am no longer craving anything sweet at all. I sit and watch people in my home stuffing lots of junk and feel nothing. The first couple of days was very tough, but not anymore.
The liver struggles with sugar, it can process it, but very slowly. The biggest culprit of modern day obesity is sugar that turns to fat, not carbs. It also makes the liver work a lot harder. That does not apply to fruits, that is natural fructose and not processed at all.
Give your liver a holiday and treat it with some TLC.
I thought I might encourage some of you to try a sugar free diet and see how you feel. I feel fab and enjoying my internal make-over that is showing externally.
