I don't know how relavant this may be; but:
I was diagnosed some years ago with Acid Reflux after time had passed and my tolerance for food became near nil.
admist all that I would have severe abdominal pain every 6 months or so. That went on for a year and a half.
The Reflux meds my docs gave me didn't help.
It got that I could barely eat bread or cereal without having "acid reflux' or severe indegestion/burning/heartburn.
Each time I went to the hosp. they would check my galbladder; each time it came back fine. the last time it came back fine and I demanded another ultrasound before being discharged the next morning. They gave me a 2nd ultrasound within 24 hours of my previous one; this second one came back not fine.
My Galbladder had shrunk to the size of a quarter (to quote the Gastro surgeon) and I had 4 galstones in my galbladder and two in my bile duct; it was removed. Turned out I had a diseased galbladder; I mention this because AFTER it was removed was I informed that, yes I may have had a predisposition to galbladder issues (fam informed me the day I was getting sent home after surg. that almost every female in my mother's side back to g.grandma has had diseased galbladders by age 36-48, I was 26 at the time), but the docs told me my Hep C most likely exaborated it; having Hep C (so I was told) could lead/have the complication of Galbladder problems.
My point; (Sorry meds kicking up/foging uyp my brain today) is: Have you explored the possiblity of any Galbladder problems with your Liver Spec.?
Since the removal of my Galbladder I can again eat salsa and everything else I like without issues; haven't had heartburn or pain since.

Ugh, ... I feel for you, as I too am heart burning for almost everything I eat, and I know orange juice makes it much worse, and I have an orange tree too. :( I look at that tree and I am sad I can't eat more of them. I take Tums but try not to take more than 3 a day. I also find if I minimize the amount of bread, sugar and grease I consume it helps a real lot. Damn those doughnuts!!

Blessings, Iris
