Hi Sandra,

Interferon causes a 'vasculitis' in some people, particularly involving the capillaries. It causes them to leak fluid resulting in ankle and lower leg oedema. I had great problems after Rx when I suddenly started to stand and walk after 48 weeks of inactivity. That problem has now subsided. Be careful with Mobic. I was warned to only take it for a short period, due to it's liver toxicity.  It certainly 'cured' my joint and muscular aches and pains, but I stopped it after 3 weeks. Now I only take it occasionally, after too much golf.  As the aches and pains are gradually easing, I'm going to stop it altogether.

have had moderate swelling due to the "rheumethroid arthritis" since aug.1st. was using compression stockings &no 2 naproxen daily for 3 wks to no avail. i actually had to go up 1/2 shoe size and felt like a 100 yr. old....

in 1 week here's my new stategy.am back into my own shoe size and feel 100% better w/my aches, swelling & mobility . i'm taking mabic daily, don't need my compression hose, eating 2 servings of asparagus/day,drinking 1 cup of my homemade cranberry juice and doing my ankle/swelling exercises from a bunionectomy 3.5 yrs ago.  google ankle/foot swelling or go 2 a kessler to get the info. wow is all i can say. iwas actually so uncomfortable i was scared i might be in a wheelchair by end of tx.

give it a shot & don't forget to walk, walk, walk and climb at least 100 stairs/day.
