I know you can do this.. the weeks will pass by fast especially after the first 4 weeks. If I can do it, you can do this.. it may rough at times but then that is why we are. come vent. lord knows I did.. these ppl are the greatest  to listen & give compassion.. so DO THIS WITH ALL YOUR BEING.. got my faith in ya..

Hi Swimmer, Good to hear you're finally going to be gettng the Harvoni. I can remember feeling the same when the pharmacy told me they would deliver the drugs that same day. It was such an intense kind of relief that brought about lots of tears for me also. So, I hope the trip goes well for you.

Hey Swimmerchic,

Welcome back! I remember your screen name from then. I was in Tx at the time and trust me beating this "thing" of ours is sweet! Congrats on getting approved. Harvoni is a miracle drug and is helping everyone taking it, amazing stuff! You have a low VL and that also works in your favor, so I'm going to be very optimistic and say you've got this in the bag! Now same thing goes, good diet and plenty of hydration to keep the headaches and minor SFX at bay. I'm going to keep my eye on you, so give it your all and keep us informed. We're always here for you! Good luck, now go kill a dragon...

Hi everyone...You guys were a lifeline a couple years ago when I was first diagnosed, but I wasn't a candidate for the treatments available at the time and research indicated there were newer, better options on the horizon. I introduced myself then, lurked for a while, felt like a fifth wheel as I wasn't on any tx and then focused what little energy I had left in getting healthy enough for treatment.

I'm 50 pounds lighter. I'm off my blood pressure meds. Haven't had a soda pop in probably two years. I've lost much of the brain fog and some of the memory loss - I put this completely down to healthy eating and walking. Hasn't helped much with the fatigue, but I'm still working full-time. I'm ready. Apparently, my hep doctor agreed. He assured me his office was submitting authorization for treatment just before Christmas, when D3 was approved.

I called my specialty pharmacy this evening to see if I could get a status update on the PA form. Specialty pharma isn't in a hurry to pay so they don't care about me or my health. My hep doctor is wonderful, but his staff...er, not so much...so they certainly don't care about me or my health. OTOH, I knew they'd wear down before I did. This has become a weekly routine.  Call specialty pharmacy. Call doctor's office. Endless cycle.

It was a fairly odd call, imho. But I'm so stoked! And scared. And BACK! It's my turn to slay my dragon, so I'm reintroducing myself since I feel more like I belong now. The pharmacy chic started the call with the usual "the request is under approval review" then went straight into "when do you want your meds?" and ended with putting a rush on it so I'll have them by this Friday. OMG!!! I'm sitting here tonight completely stoked and crying like a baby. I had to ask her what meds I'd be taking. This weekend I'm starting my 8 weeks of Harvoni.

I'm 58 years old, tx naive, GT 1, IL28B TT, VL 883,000 IU/mL
