Hi there, Mike, good to hear from you again!

You`re certainly bringing some good news with you, and how wonderful that your liver status has improved since you successfully completed your Abbvie trial.

As Tig said, fibrosis reversal post SVR is something we`re very interested in, and we`ve heard similar reports from other members.  The liver is an amazing organ, and once the virus has been eliminated it can start repairing some of the damage done.

Thanks for stopping by with your update, this is very encouraging news for many of us here!  smile

William and Bubble,

So I don't hijack Balagan's thread here, I'll add the link to the PA hospital system that is performing these newest transplant/graft procedures, in a new thread. Interesting stuff!

We have a continual running commercial on the radio from a Philly area hospital that talks of segmentation grafting. I did not know you could donate a section of your liver to be attached to someone else's liver. Regeneration is now an option before a full transplant. I will try and get the name of the area hospital.   Facinating...

Hi B51,

Nice to have you back again! I'm glad to hear your doctor feels you have had some fibrosis regression. How fast that happens is still a question and one we talk about frequently here. It's certainly an important concern for all of us with advanced fibrosis.

Here is a link to a AASLD 2015 video we just discussed. You might find it informative.

Liver regeneration Post Abbvie Turquoise clinical trial in 2014.

i don't post here much anymore but wanted to share this with others as when my doc said stuff like this does happen,I didn't believe him.

in July I went in for an upper GI. something I have been doing since diagnosed with Cirrhosis back in 2005. I had a fibrosure drawn too along with the typical labs.

The fibrosure came back, and according to the results,I am no longer cirrhotic . it's been reduced to " bridging Fibrosis." All the other labs and the upper GI results were normal too.

i would bet that more and more people will see rejuvenation to some extent after successfully removing the source of inflammation.

I have much to be thankful for and pray that others have the same results after clearing.
