I am still on treatment...way past incivik but am having hair loss from interferon. My scalp hurts too....like a sunburn. I bought coconut oil and massage it into the scalp 1-2x per week and it seems to keep moisture in. I was using Nioxin shampoo to help with the hair loss but have switched to baby shampoo and conditioner as it is very mild and non-irritating. If your scalp can tolerate it, I would suggest using moisturizing shampoo & conditioner.
I also wash my hair about every 5 days. It doesn't have much oil in it now so doesn't feel dirty. It is important to keep the natural oils in there to help it feel not so dry. I gently massage the scalp every night before bed.....that seems to induce alot of hair falling out so I comb it after but it makes it feel better :)
good luck,
Meghan

I got it during incivek and a little bit afterwards. To be honest I just slapped lotion in my hair because it's a short fade. If you don't have a shaved head I'm not sure. I do know hot showers cause dry skin, not only from reading but because I take hot showers : 0.
God bless,
Mike

I didn't experience it but my nurse said it might happen due to skin dryness. Find out how to moisturise your scalp and go from there.

Okay, has anyone experienced an itchy scalp after having a bad Incivek rash? The rash is gone but my scalp still flares up-- I start around 3:00 everyday and want to scratch my head til it bleeds! I don't go that far but this is driving me crazy! I take zyrtek in the day and a prescription at night for the itching. I'm getting kind of tired of the extra meds and would really like to get down to Interfuron and Riba only, see what thatactually feels like. Will this end or is it just Riba rash?
Also, I know I'm not supposed to get too much sun on this, but if I get some will it be okay or is it another rash filled with misery? My work includes gardening, so I have to be out in it. What works and what doesn't?
