See my signature. It was so bad I had to ice my elbows and knees to sleep. Everywhere below the neck except genitals, palms, soles. I lasted 8 weeks. Within 3 days of stopping it was night and day. Of course now I'm on the 48 week protocol.
I still have some fading scars from the rash, and my skin feels very strange and like tissue paper. But I think that's a general reaction.
Hi Sed, did you itch as well? Everything stopped withing 3 days of discontinuing the incivek? I hope so, counting the days...

Renee, I have 5 days of incivek left and my rash just got worse last night aftethe shot. I dont know it triggered it or something...Drugged myself on various antihistamines so I can sleep and not itch. The soles of my feet and palms of my hands beame itchy as well.
Right before they had me discontinue Incivik, the rash was pretty much on all of my body; even the bottoms of my feet. it started to look bright red; but wasn't as 'raised' as some of the other pics others have posted; when I went to my doc about it (after trying all the creams etc) the saw the extent of my rash and were like ; oh crap, yeah we don't want to see that; you need to stop NOW. so I only did 6 weeks of incivik instead of 12....

Steff, It was pretty terrible. The dermatologist called in all his colleagues to look at my poor body. I have a feeling that my case was "special" but I just felt like a diseased slab of meat :)
But now...10 months later I have 2.5 days to go. All of a sudden I feel weepy.

I asked my doctor about antihistamines while on treatment and he said go for it. I pre-loaded my system and started taking daily zyrtec 3 days before treatment. I took it while taking incivik + an extra week and avoided the rash. You might want to try this but ask your doc first.
Also, ribavirin can contribute to rash too so if it gets bad enough you can manipulate the dosing of drugs to isolate the problem child drug and deal with it accordingly. :)
good luck,
Meghan
Hi Meghan, Zyrtec doesn't help anymore not even hydroxyzine, only Benadryl brings relief but it makes me drowsy. I think my rash is from incivek, riba did not give me problems last time around.

This is my rash, which I consider to be mild. Tiny white and red bumps on my arms, that itch.
Ouch Deb! That hurts just to look at it! My rash never got remotely that bad looking. I do believe you win the TROOPER award for hanging in there!

My GGT was in the 300's, if I remember correctly. They suspected early DRESS symdrome. Rash was everywhere.
I'm so much better now.

Deborah, wow that is a really serious rash, I can't help but think that it is essentially the same as the rash I had been getting, due to the sun. My NP prescribed Betamethasone Dipropionate lotion, which promptly took care of the rash, provided that I keep the sun off my arms(long sleeves and/or sun block).

Hi Margo,
I am trying to post a photo of my rash. This is just my arm but it was all over. It was so bad it affected everything so they discont. the incivek and started me on the victrelis. I've been on it for 47 weeks. Tomorrow is my last week.
Oh my gosh!!! I would never expect that, this was probably a severe case. Thanks for posting, no wonder they stopped Incivek...

Whoops you're right some of those aren't even incivek rashes sorry. Some are but not all.
Mine looked like jock itch, with bigger red blotches than shown here and more spaced out. It was like a concentrated area of mosquito bites. Probably should have just posted that first....
I feel for you I know how those rashes are.

You can try a google image search, I just did one and a good amount of photos showed up.
I googled and not too many I saw, just some illustrated from incivek directly.

Hey guys, I was always wondering what the incivek rash looks like and the degree of the rash that it ranges from mild to severe. Can someone post some photos?
