Hi Meghan, I agree, sadly post tx tends to be a neglected area altogether and more attention and research is badly needed. Yes, I agree, it does make interesting reading, even so.
By the way, the survey was web-based so it wasn`t only people from the UK who took part. Here`s a quote from the survey -
"500 respondents completed the survey and all of them were more than 6 months post treatment. It should be noted that the survey was web-based and, as such, respondents were not solely from the UK. In addition there was a range of treatment lengths, from 4 weeks to 3 years, across the study population (47 respondents reported more than one year of treatment) and a number of people had undergone treatment more than once."
Steff (greenqueen) has posted about it too a couple of times -
Also of course, it`s way too soon for any long term study of the post tx effects from the triples, so we`ll have to wait and see...and let`s hope the new interferon free tx therapies that are in the pipeline will be a lot less troublesome all round!
Thanks for bringing this up.
All the best, Jill xx

have been in touch with a nurse educator from Vertex and he let me know about this study. More research needs to be done on post treatment side effects/new illnesses but I am glad we have some sort of guideline. Let's push for a bigger study to be done here. Encourage your doc, pharmacy, and write the drug companies!
