My heptologist recomended staying away from organs as they are very high in iron, red meats aren't quite as bad but still high. She didn't say anything about cereals. I'm sure you'll be fine ;P

While you don't have to completely avoid iron in your diet, do avoid foods RICH in iron like red meat and spinach.

Hi lobo1, lots of breakfast cereals and other food products have a small amount of iron added, but the amounts are fairly insignificant when eaten as part of a well-balanced and healthy diet so I can`t see any reason to avoid them. Iron overload can certainly be a problem with Hep C and so the usual advice is to avoid iron supplements and multi-minerals containing iron. If in doubt check with your doctor or health care provider. ~ Jill xx

eat Kellogg's Rasin Bran with Hepatitis C ? Is it OK to have foods with Iron in it, thanks ?
