Tim, I'm only taking a brief shower every 3 days. Yuk, I know , but it's winter here and I'm not doing anything. I'm impressed that you can get to the gym- I sleep, get up, watch TV, play on the computer, then bed. On Thur- Fri's I feel slightly better, and go out briefly for any essential business.
I can't believe the amout of water you are drinking. That would make me sick. I'm between 2-2.5 litres/day and have some dry skin but no itchiness or rash. Cheers.
Before I started including the 30 minute/day elliptical workout I would only shower every 2-3 days, but with mid summer heat in full force here(39șC) I'm absolutely in need of a bath after the workout.
I'm driniking 4~4 1/2 Liters which goes smoothly if I pace myself. If I get behind and try to 'catch up' I will surely drown...or spend most of the night going to the bathroom.

I know it's a pain in the ass but don't take showers; take tepid baths and put a half cup of coconut oil in the water. Make sure you clean out the floor of the tub because it's pretty slippery afterward. When baathing wash the vital parts with a mild soap; I like cetaphyll. When drying yourself off; wipe gently. And always ice. Let me know if it works for you, please? I started about a month ago and so I'm not absolutely sure it's the coconut oil but nosthsing has worked like this. I'ave been four weeks without itch; maybe a little here and there but really nothing worth speaking of. Good Luck
Mike, I'm using Dove unscented soap(have been for years, due to allergies), and verry tepid shower water(24 șC) which is run through the house water softener. Today my NP saw how bad my rash had gotten, so she prescribed some Betamethasone Dipropionate cream to put on my rash, which she thought looked alot like Psoriasis; after reading up on it I'm inclined to agree. I just hope I can get rid of it, and never have it come back.

Well, the idea that there might be a connection popped into my head last night, as the timeline just seemed to fit. Plus, (I'm theorizing) daily workouts lead to daily showering, which could contribute to drier, 'rashier' skin.
I'm continuing to push more H20, I can drink 4 liters before mid afternoon, and perhaps another liter before 7P.M.; the more the better so long as I don't have to get up 15 times during the night.
My rash is pretty persistent, no perceptible improvement from increase water intake, I use a ton of Cortizone 10(which is really only 1%), some really great cream- Fruit of the Earth Vitamin, and even baby oil and petroleum jelly.
I've got 3 more boxes of darts before I cross the finish line- I think I can see the light at the end of the tunnel!

Hi Tim, I also noticed that after a work out, itching and rash increased as well.

I tried to get to the Y three times a week during treatment, and sometimes I actually did it. There was no obvious relationship between workout frequency or quality and skin condition. I was completely dependent on water intake to control the rash and itch, and actually drank an extra bottle of water on workout day. The extra water intake habit seems like it might stick with me. This would be good, since I have never done a good job of staying hydrated. Hope you doing OK overall. Seems like you're going to sail right through this. Alan

I began adding a half hour per day eliptical workout to my routine a couple weeks ago. It occurred to me that during the same time period my skin rash & itch 'potential' have also increased. Just a coincidence, or is there some basis in fact? Has anyone experienced something similiiar?
