nice that we are in the same club Mark! my last day of treatment hit me with a bang and left me sick one last time but I have the last laugh now! I have been off for a week now and am feeling good but have had family in town and have been busy so it is hard to tell if my energy is coming back. My husband said he can see it in my face that I am feeling better so thats good! :)
aloha,
Meghan

Nice work, Mark. I hope your body will quickly repair itself from all that abuse. So glad you remained UND with all those dosage reductions. I worried about you, particuarly when I didn't hear from you for a while. So let's get this poison out of our systems. Hope the boy and the hound are doing well.

Hi DJ, welcome! I`ve sent you a PM (Private Message) telling you about my experience of tx (treatment) and also some info on using the forum.
Glad you`ve found us, you`re in the right place for plenty of good info and support throughout your tx. All the best of luck, Jill xx

Hi there Mark, I was wondering how you were getting on! Well done and congrats, so pleased to hear you`ve finished tx now and still UND, that`s fantastic, and very encouraging that you did it on a reduced dose of meds too!
Quite often people do find they actually feel worse before they start feeling better, but hang on a while longer and you`ll soon be getting your strength back as your body recovers from tx.
Do keep in touch and let us know how it goes, and all the best of luck to you, fingers crossed for SVR! Jill xx

I am completely new here and don't really know how to use this forum, but I have been reading posts to get information and Cinnamon Girl, you had Genotype 3 and have been cured. I just found out that I have that same genotype and will be starting treatment probably next month (right now going through some testing and waiting on insurance issues to be settled). I will only be on the 2 drug treatment and they think it should only take 6 months.
Since I haven't talked to anyone else who went through treatment for Genotype 3, just wondering if you could tell me how your side effects were.
Anyway...so nice to find this forum and thanks for all the info!

Hi all! I haven't been around for a while, but I thought I would give you an update on my Tx. I see a lot of members have joined, so to you I say welcome and all the best on your journey.
I completed Tx on July 31st! I ended up doing 26 weeks but still only 24 injections of interferon. My interferon dose was 90 (half a dose) for most of tx. and 45 (a quarter dose) the final 2 months of tx. My Riba dose was 600 (half dose) for most of tx.
End of tx labs, I am happy to say, show that I am still UND. but my Hgb and Neutrophils remain very low. I'll post again at the next VL test in 6 months to let you know if it sticks or not.
I am still feeling weak a week post tx. I actually became weaker during these last 7 days which kind of threw me for a loop. I was so hoping for at least a tiny bit of energy increase. Oh well, dr. told me not to expect too much for a month or so. But at least it is over. I did it! Pray it was worth it.
