I'm having eye problems also post tx. Went to the emergency eye clinic to have it checked out. Pain (like a headache in my eyeball), blurred vision, cotton-wool spots, spasms, and a small area of complete vision loss. I got eye-drops also and that is helping with some of the issues.
Glad you had a great day! Babies always make you smile! I'm going over to see a new little girl my good friends just had. Everything else disappears when I look into those clear eyes.

Hi Mark & Jime Things are getting better--have had a couple of minor & crazy set backs. Had an eye infection that started about 2 weeks post. Thought is was just contact lenses issues but after battling it since mid- July went to the eye doc. Give me some high dollar eye drops and it has finally cleared. He wasn't sure but thought there was a high probablity it was associated with tx or auto-immune issues. Which of course my thyroid was out of whack so why not my eyes.
All is good & getting better. Today was a fabulous day---my best friend's 3 grandchild was born this morning. New babies make every thing better!

Shep... how are you feeling with all of this post tx stuff these days? I hope it is all getting resolved and you are springing back to "normal". I am still having problems sleeping but trying to ween myself off of the sleep aids. I had to start taking them the last 2 months of tx. I figured that sleeping was more important for my healing process.
Hope you are keeping up with your busy schedule and feeling well.

Hey Shep, hope things calm down a little more each day for you. Keep the faith and have fun at work on Monday...lol. I'm sure evryone will be fine.
I was at my local coffee barn ( 7-11 ) the other morning and the guy behind the ccounter says out of the blue, "Hey, your getting bald over here." And he points to above his forehead on each side. I said, "Yea, I know. I'm getting a big face." And I left laughing to myself. wth???
I was only on Interferon for 2 months but I was on ribavirin for 8 of the last 11 months and the trial drugs for 6 months. Who knows? Time will tell, but if I can be clear of this virus it will have been worth it for me.
I have also developed arthritis in my right hip and my right hand since I started tx last year. Ifirst noticed it in January of 2012. One month post triple tx. Coincidence? Maybe, maybe not. I never has it before tx. Maybe it will go away it time. Hope so.
Well, enough from me. I'm off to work. Have a great day everybody!

Shep, I'm glad you found a way to feel better. Like you and Kelly, my hair is coming out MORE now that I'm off tx. I did not expect that. I am stuck with the new anxiety most of the time, still, and remain on Ativan post tx. Have a few problems but mostly I feel MUCH better. It's interesting to see what happens with us AFTER tx; great that we have each other to compare notes. Wishing you all the best!

I think the thyroid thing is pretty common among us. Good news is that it's manageable. Good luck.

Also cool you get md appt. now. I just get 6 mos lab when time comes I guess. I don't see a lot of "usual" post tx sx. I have read of some long term isolated sx.

Oh my!!! Shep I've had much of the same! I'm so sorry. I was hoping it was just me. My thyroid was normal during RX though. It changed but never got way off. My hair is coming out much more now than on tx. I know I'm feeling a bit depressed and finally went to assistance to sleep (melatonin) cuz I was going nuts not sleeping.
Do you attribute it to the thyroid? Or just post tx ?? Whatever. How is your energy? Mine is up and down. Course never as bad as on tx.

This is most excellent news. You have demonstrated once again how being on treatment, and paying such careful attention to our bodies for so long, and thinking about our medications so much of the time makes us able to care for ourselves. It makes perfect sense that you might need to slowly go back to the thyroid meds you used before treatment. Good luck at work on Monday. Hope there isn't an angry mob waiting for you. But either way you'll do fine. Alan

Thanks all! Now that I have discovered what the problem is I feel relieved. Until I can see the doctor have sort of taken matters into my hands. Stopped taking the 2nd thyroid drug prescribed during tx and found some lower dose of the regular stuff. After one night beginning to feel a little better. Have to feel better soon --returning to work on Monday!! Oh No!! Have to face all the people I PO'ed and make more apologies.

Shep,
Get well fast. It's not fair that the thyroid chooses to go hyper right after all the treatment stuff. You need to feel good again. Hope all is OK with the parents' health and the wedding plans. By now you are canning and freezing vegetables like crazy. We are just starting up in Maryland. Have been eating fresh potatoes and tomatoes, but the beans, squash, etc are not ready yet.
Just hold on to that positive attitude and you'll be OK.

Hey All--went to see the doctor today and had a really great visit. He opened up to me about how thrilled he is to finally see consistent success in his Hep C patients. He has been doing this since the first tx --he said it made him happy that he choose medicine. It was a great moment--then we had to talk about what is going on with me post.
I did not want to be a party-pooper--but I have not been feeling as well as others going through recovery. Well from looking at the labs-it is my whacky thyroid again. So my doc is getting in touch with the endocronoligist. It appears it has gone hyper--the only thing about me that is hyper. I have terrible joint pain, insomnia, depression, weight loss, hair coming out by handfuls (never lost this much hair during tx). But I am still UND!
Hopefully it will get resolved quickly. I am ready to feel good again!!
