good to hear about the thyroid! My hair is still falling out too at 31/2 weeks out...I figure it will take a while for the interferon to leave our systems. Some of it is grown back now and I have little hairs sticking up that I slick down with hairspray :)

Shep,
I'm glad to hear that your life is returning to [more] normal; what a long hard road through tx land.

You must teach high school, yes?

Shep,
I'm happy to hear you are getting your life back. I'm fairly new to this forum but I must tell you that your posts have been a real inspiration for me. It's because of troopers like you I feel that I too get manage this tx. Continuing to work is important for me and I'm hoping this tx will allow me to do so.
God Bless you!

Hey ALL!
Well finally have my thyroid issues almost under control. My thyroid has been wanting to return to pre-tx levels but the high dosage of thyroid meds was dropping it to hyper levels. Had a really bad reaction two weeks ago --almost ended up in the ER from heart getting ready to burst out of my chest and joints hurting so bad almost couldn't walk. My hair is still falling out by handfuls--went and got it cut--only a couple of inches. Starting also having the worst headaches. It was almost like going through tx again only different.
My endorcronoligist is great! He actually called my on a Saturday afternoon with lab results. So am starting to feel better--he did say it may take 6 months to get back on track--but that's ok. Thyroid tx is one little pill a day!!
I have started back to work--it has been busy and exhausting. But it is nice to be able to think clearly and actually accomplish things. I was really good at staring at the computer or giving students the blank looks rather than the stop-being-a-jerk stare of death. Everyone just picks hair off me and tells me they are glad to have me back!! I was there in body--the brain was under the fog.
All else is crazy, busy life--parenting my parents., anxiously awaiting new grandbaby in December, making wedding plans for May, taking in stray young men who need to start over, gardening. It is nice to have a life off the couch.
