I bought the Elvis cookbook when it came out. It's not book but it's got some some fattening food in it!

Hi Ordinary
That's a very good point and thanks for bringing this up.
I did the Peg/Riba combo and found that some foods that I usually liked were a real turn-off on tx. Your sense of smell can become very acute too and that's another point to bear in mind - certain food smells could make me feel very nauseous.
Good to hear from you!

Stocking up on just any fatty foods may not be the answer before treatment. Wait and see what you can choke down. The incevik, and to a lesser extent the riba, changes your sense of taste and affects your stomach.
When I was on the incevik (before they switched me to victrelis) a glass of whole milk and a buttered cracker were all I could stand.
And of course, lots of water.

And as I have been forewarned to drink allot of H20..
If you need to go gluten free, then it's a good time to start learning asian cooking. Soy sauce does contain gluten but there're alternatives.
Thanks learning something new everyday...

Hi Michaele here, Love the Elvis, but the nitrate is not good in excess. How about 4 whole wheat peanut butter cookies and a cup a Joe. I just saw a recipe online which had 6.4 gram of fat per cookie. 3 cookies and a coffee with cream and its done. Im not on tx yet, but I'm making my list and checking it twice. I think I'll bake them before tx and freeze them for later. And the fat may be healthier from the PNB. Michaele has left the building

I will take all advice.. but I did read that coffee if tolerated & of course to replenish w/more H20 actually helped with SVR... It's located somewhere in the knowledge box on this board. I totally get it.. some folks had/have a tuff time with the nauesa and taste buds that changed.. I hope to have a scrip of Zofran on hand as well.

Keep off/away from all caffeine. It will make a big difference in the itching; like night & day.

Not to rain on anyone's parade, but you might want to wait and see what tastes and smells edible. I couldn't handle any kind of nuts, or even bacon. The smells really got to me. What got me thru those first12 weeks was milkshakes or whipping cream. Good luck to you. This is truly the time to pamper and take care of yourself. For once in your life, let things be about you!

Awesome PBJ with bacon & bannanas thanks Elvis... wondering if the use of that Nutella spread might help?

So any FOOD suggestions bring it on casue I need FAT.. the pre-made meals got that one in the works freezing allot of leftovers for small portions for me.

I am trying to plan my snacks ahead of time. Might as well control what small bit of this that is in my power to control huh? I have decided one daily snack will be Moser Roth 85% dark chocolate bars, 13g with 8oz of whole milk for another 7g. It's only 165 calories, and they are pretty good if you like a semi-sweet chocolate. I will need about 17 packages of chocolate bars (5 to a pack) to make 84 snacks. Cocoa is good for heart health and it's a mood booster.
I am thinking 32 almonds for another snack, and maybe some walnuts too for variety if I can figure out how to divvy them up so I can make sure I have enough. I think I will prep as much of my snacks ahead of time by putting the nuts in snack baggies, and put them in a dresser drawer so I can grab and go when I need them. I know nuts are pretty healthy.
For the mid-day one, I think I will have more of a regular meal, with a few ready to grab ones ready in case I am feeling puny, but for the early and late one, I think I want those all ready to go.
