I did 36...I guess it depends on the patient and what the doctor thinks is best. Cirrhosis can be mild-severe and other factors can go in to that decision. :)

I understand, Alan. I only did 28 weeks. It is what it is! I did not do 4 week post VL labs. Do my 12 week labs next week. Post tx so far has been mostly a recovery period, mostly good, some issues, NO anxiety over meds or labs. But that anxiety is returning as the labs approach. The wait for the results is going to just as wrenching as before, probably more. Unfortunately, that's a life-time sentence!

Here's some quotes from the profuct info sheet for Victrelis Triple Pack and the link for the full 96 page pdf
Duration of Therapy
The recommendations for duration of therapy differ for some subgroups from the dosing durations
studied in the Phase 3 clinical trials (see CLINICAL TRIALS). Response-Guided Therapy is
recommended for most individuals, but longer dosing is recommended in target groups
(e.g., patients with cirrhosis).
Patients with Poor Interferon Response
Consideration should be given to treating previously untreated patients who are poorly interferon responsive (less than a 1.0-log10 decline in HCV-RNA at TW 4 with PegIFN/RBV alone) with
4 weeks of PEGETRON
using the dosing recommendations listed in Table 6 followed by 44 weeks of VICTRELISin combination with PEGETRON
(see CLINICAL TRIALS).
Patients with Cirrhosis
Patients with compensated cirrhosis should receive 4 weeks of PEGETRON using dosing recommendations listed in Table 6 followed by 44 weeks VICTRELISin combination with PEGETRON.
Flag on the feild Let's not jump to conclusions yet we are all alittle different maybe we can get a REF here and take it to the instant replay booth I don't want to confuse the issue but this makes me think too
We have alot @ 48 weeks
We have at least 1 @ 36 weeks
and Me rolling right into restarting treatment to to do another 24 weeks I have cirrosis stage 3
I will be doing 72 weeks total strait though
I did 48 weeks study DEB025 the drug was pulled by FDA @ about 7 months in I was UND so contiued Peg & Ribv
But relaped at about week 45 they advised me to stay on Peg and Ribv till 48 and set up for Incivek
Week 49 got a a whole new set of poisons I cried when i injected
so I do the 12 trp Tx and 12 Peg & Ribv Thats how I get to do 72 weeks
My VL was 9Mil + last year relapsed / broke through week 49 I was hitting VL @ 300,000 VL result at week 50 w/Incivek VL down to ( 26 )
Am I only getting 24 weeks of poision cause I was a good patient to do 48 weeks ( last year? )
But sereiously ?? Is it only 24 cause I never stopped taking interferon / Ribv and my VL was only 300 K ????
I think maybe were all different You make the call
( note they did hint about maybe doing the full 48 again ) 2 years of poision ??? Can I handle that ???

You guys are really starting to worry me. I just had my 4 weeks post labs, and will do them again at 12 and 24. I only did a 36 week treatment, 12 with Incivek, and 24 without. I really hope that ends up being enough.

Hi, If you are F3-4, you don't have cirrhosis. Only F4 equates to cirrhosis. Irrespective of this, the current Rx duration for F3-4 and F4 is 48 weeks. Yes, it is a long trip, but the SVR figures for shorter Rx duration are fairly depressing. The SVR figures for F3-4 after 48 weeks is >80% so the odds are good.
