I'm with you, Millie. After 27 weeks, have the shot, go to bed, wait 7 days, do it all again. Can't say I notice any effects.

I never stayed awake to find out, took sleepy meds, and before dozing off I rolled over and took a shot. Zzzzzzzzzz
48 weeks is a long haul, start pampering now!

At this point, about 32 weeks in, it takes about 2 minutes. But I've always been sensitive to the early effect of drugs, licit or, in a previous life, illicit.

My first shot kicked in about 5 hours later, and that was absolute hell. For me, the first shot was extremely worse than every other one. Side effects for my second shot kicked in around the same time as the first, but it was much milder than the first time. After that, it became unpredictable. Some shots I have not felt anything until the next day. I think Margo describes the warm weird feeling pretty well, and that is usually the only short term side effect I feel anymore from the injection. The past few weeks, I have not felt any noticeable side effects at all. I don't know if that is good or bad, but it's made my weekends a lot easier.

I take my shot Friday evening, and it usually starts to kick in arond noon on Monday, fluey type symptoms for a couple of hours, then just the normal tiredness. these last two weeks (shots 7 and 8) I had no effects at all.

It was unpredictable for me too. The first one kicked in maybe 4 hours later. Most of the time in treatment I would feel fine the day after and the effects would hit me 48-72 hours later and I would be down for the count with fever, chills, then night sweats for 2-3 days. It is wierd that it would have this time delay but I am blaming it on the pegalated.
When I did treatment in 99-2000 I used the old version of interferon and did 3 injections per week. I would feel the effects of that consistenly a few hours after injecting so have always done my shots right before bed with 2 advil :)

Just like Margo! Week 16 I felt immediately. I noticed a metal taste in my mouth and nose and got a little chilly. I felt great the next day. Now 2nd day I feel very tired. As Scout mentioned its unpredictable. Now that I have finished Invicek I feel SO much better. Actually feel better than we I started medicine. But with this med sx can change in a minute:) JoAnne
Interesting to note, but I also feel better now then before starting treatment! No side effects, just nausea is bad...

Thanks, Margo, good idea for a thread, very useful.
Personally, it took even longer for me to feel any effects from my first shot. I did it at 11am in my nurse`s office and it wasn`t until about 8pm that evening that I noticed feeling cold and shivery. By about 11pm I was feeling really fluey and had quite a rough night.
None of my subsequent shots effected me nearly as badly, made me feel slightly fluey but mostly very tired for a couple of days. Jill xx
Same here Margo. I did not notice much until sbout 8 hours later. I was shivering and my teeth were chattering. I also felt very tired and feverish. I am interested what the second shot will do.....B

Some days are ****tier than others. A few times I got through a week without feeling any ill effects, other weeks it was bad from shot to the next go around.

After first shot it took 6 hours to take effect, now its minutes at week 18. I understand because it accumulates in the body. Warm feeling in the body that brings a weird feeling that makes me uncomfortable in my own body. Yesterday, literally 5 minutes after my shot, the "cleansing" began... Not too be too graphic. Skin became extremely sensitive and painful to touch.
