I really hopw to have more energy after treatment, but I will be 53 when it is completed (I am 52 now). So I have no idea what to expect.
But I don't have nearly the energy as most people my age. Never knew why, but I am guessing it is the Hep C.
So it is wonderful to read reports like this. It gives me hope!

Congrats, and I can't wait! I put off my wedding until after treatment. I'm getting married 2-3 months after I finish. I hope I feel up to it!
No problem waiting though - I waited 50 years so far.

I'm at 26 weeks post treatment myself. Tomorrow I will have my six months post tx liver test to see if I have achieved SVR. I am the first to complete tx in my gastrointerologists office, so they are as eager as I for a victory. My VL has been all zeros since three weeks into tx. We expect SVR.
I have been at full strength, no fatigue, since about 5 weeks post tx. Food tastes wonderful. At about three months post tx, treatment was just a bad memory. I still have a bit of moodiness, but nothing at all like when I was on TX. Sometimes my mind goes blank when I am trying to recall things, but less and less as time goes one. I also get out of breath easier than pre tx, have been intentionally taking the stairs at work the last month to help bring my wind back.
I still have occasional insomnia, though it is becoming rare now.
Life feels normal again! Yay!!

Duplicate post in post-tx sub-forum but wanted to share this with others in treatment. I passed 24 weeks last Friday - April 6 was my last shot. For all of you struggling...it does get better, by a LOT.
This is life for me after Hep C:
1) I don't wake up tired anymore. I don't drag my feet out of the house and simply put...I feel ready for the day and its challenges. This applies for naps and mornings. I may feel a bit dazed for a few minutes but that applies for everybody.
2) After a workout, I'll be sweaty and a little tired...but it's a "good" kind of tired. I don't feel like collapsing and playing dead for 3 hours. I feel like there is a residual spark in me, ready to take on more exercise if need be. 1 hour after a workout, I feel a warm cozy glow in my muscles, not a bone-tired tiredness.
3) I can sustain light physical activity (e.g. gardening) for more than 2 hours. I remember the same time last year...my body kept protesting and protesting that it just didn't have anything to give.
4) Mental state: at the beginning of treatment, I was suffering from depression - not sad, but just numbness & apathy at its worst. My core personality/drive/get-up-and-go had fled and I felt like a compass without a needle. Didn't even care that my needle had disappeared - I was a zombie stumbling from 1 day to the next. But 10 days after start of tx, I noticed an immediate improvement in my mood and outlook.
Hep C had crept on me over the years and I had always discounted how I felt due to advancing age or work-related stress. I'm happy to report that it doesn't have to be that way and it feels good. It feels good to be..."normal".
