Hi Ken, glad you've almost reached the end of the Inciv. Do you know your blood levels eg Hb, RBC, WBC, Platelets?. Why don't you wait until you get the Inciv. out of your system before deciding on extra injections ( unless your doc is worried about your levels). As you say, Procrit and Neupogen can have their own set of problems.

Hi DJ, Procrit is the name of the shot that is often prescribed by doctors to raise the level of red blood cells when they`ve dropped below a certain point, and Neupogen is the one given to raise white blood cell levels.
As for B12, I posted an article about it in the Knowledge Base a little while back. According to this study, taking B12 while on tx can help to improve a persons response to standard tx. Have a read through this thread if you`re interested...

Congrats!
And a question...does B12 help with the red blood cells? Right now I am waiting to start treatment and my doctor has be taking iron twice a day because I have low iron (always have). So I know once treatment starts it will be bad. Does the B12 help with that?
Thanks

Congrats on being in the Incivek home stretch. Each week since I finished taking it, Ive felt a tad better. Don't know about you, but I gained weight with all the fat intake and now I'm craving carbs (which isn't helping my continued weight gain). Guess I need to get over this new found diet freedom and start trying to slim down.
Keep your eye on the light at the end of the tunnel. The journey gets better.

Good morning eveeryone today i start week 12. YEAH. Still have good days and bad days. Red and white blood cells are a little low making me tired all the time. Dr. said might have to start with shots to get blood cell count up. I don't know if I want to. Drugs have bad side effects. I am thinking of doing more b12. Can't wait for this week to be over. No more getting up to eat 20g of fat. What to do what to do?

That`s great, Ken, you`re making good progess! You`re bound to be feeling tired if your blood cell counts are down, especially your RBC. A number of people here have been prescribed shots to raise their blood levels and have found them helpful. What were your last results?
Best of luck, you`ll be so glad when you`ve finished the incivek! ~ Jill xx
ps - I`ve moved this to the On Treatment area for you.
