Good to hear tx is going well for you, Denise. Some sleeping pills can cause drowsiness in the daytime, so if you find you`re still having trouble sleeping do speak to your doctor about it, he should be able to prescribe you something different from the Sonata, or maybe recommend a lower dose.
Best of luck with your shot this week! ~ Jill xx

Welcome Denise. It really varies for everybody. There are a bucket of side effects that everyone gets, to varying degrees. Then there are the ones that pop up individually.
So since there's no way of telling, there's no point in worrying (if you are). Plenty of fluids (2 quarts water/day minimum), rest, etc. You're doing what you need to do, and then it's done.
Goos luck!!!

hi denise. first shot is often the worst for a lot of us. but you can expect to be laid a bit low a few days afterwards. i had to learn to rest when my body was telling me to rest. was hard, coz im pretty independent, but in the end i went with it. get people to help. but dont be scared to just go lie down when you feel the need. we have a joke about us all needing new couches after treatment coz theres a human shape embedded on it. lol.
welcome and good luck. ive only just finished 48 weeks, its a slog but worth it.

Everything has gone well so far. I have found out I can NOT take my sleep medicine (Sonata) as it really dopes me up. No real side effects except being tired. I know it's only 5 days in but I'm trying to stay optimistic. Thank you all for you war welcome!!!

Hi there Denise, just wanted to wish you the best of luck with your first shot tonight, hope it goes smoothly for you! As Joanne said, keeping yourself well hydrated with plenty of water helps, and if you start feeling any `fluey` side effects it`s fine to take some painkillers.
Take it easy, and let us know how it goes. All the best to you, Jill xx

Hi Denise,
My first shot was ok without any sx. Had some flu like symptoms and bit of fever 12 hours after the 2nd shot but nothing major. Relax and take it easy. Stay hydrated (they say a glass of a clear apple juice before and one after the shot does good). There is nothing to worry about. Hundreds of people accomplish this tx. There are always some sx but it does not mean that everyone has them to the same extent if at all. Usually the guides mention the worst case scenario just to be ready. Which is very often not the case. Good luck!
