Bouba, I suspect eggnog is not ideal for someone with high cholestrol. However, given that the fat phase of this treatment only lasts 12 weeks, it is but a temporary departure from a low cholesterol diet.

I used to be a big Hagen-Dazs fan until I started tx. But even that, 3 x a day .... brrrrr .... I can take it only in my mix shake now... at 5:30am... better than a sausage at sunrise

Why not ice cream? I see that a Hagen-Dazs dark chocolate ice cream bar has 20 grams of fat per bar.

Hi Carl, tks for a tip. What about cholesterol? How did you alternate? An averale yolk contains about 5 gr of fat, right? How many and what else did you blend in?
My family makes for me a shake of about 600ml containing 100gr of fat that I split in 3 portions (to be sure). That contains ice-cream, butter, thick sour cream, nutella + some flavors.
I keep it in the fridge and make it thinner adding some full cream milk before I put a 200gr glass of this shake by my bed side for an intake at 5:30am.
The next one at 1:30pm is easy as it goes right with/after lunch. 9:30pm is bit gaggy as it follows a dinner and I already feel pretty full. But at least I have all options open then.
Cheers!

As a veteran of the Incivek 20-grams-of-fat wars, I know all too well the misery of gagging down that quantity of vile substances not once but THREE times a day for twelve weeks. But those of you who are mid-battle are in luck! 'Tis the season for eggnog! -- my all time favorite secret fat weapon. A single one-cup serving of eggnog contains a full 19 grams of fat and tastes yummy! Granted...anything you eat or drink that much of will eventually make you want to puke, so do alternate it with something else like a regular meal.
A related challenge is WHEN to schedule your 3x daily pill+fat pitty parties. Here's the schedule I found worked best for me: Sometime between 3 and 5am each night I got up to pee and take my first daily dose along with a cup of eggnog which I placed in the bathroom in a sippy cup stored in a little cooler with ice the night before. My second dose was with lunch around noon (I became a Steak-n-Shake regular). My third was taken with either a late dinner or dessert (a ½ cup of ice cream is about 20 grams of fat). This schedule allowed me to time two of my three doses to coincide with a meal and the other one with a quick couple gulps of eggnog. After months of trial and error I found this routine far and away the most pleasant. The only flaw with this tried-and-true system is that eggnog goes away in most stores by mid-January...so stock up! Cheers!
