When I am done in a couple of weeks, I will let you what side effect I did NOT get. I don't want to jinx it by typing it or saying it out loud. Let's just say I would rather have the rash.

Thanks for the posts. I did search for "rash" and found that I am doing what others have done. I can't take benedryl too often at night because it keeps me awake. (Paradoxical effect) I have some zyrtec in my bathroom that I will try during the day to see how that works. (I'm doubtful though) The rash on my face isn't as bad as the rest of my body, just some red bumps and the scaly looking things (about 5 of them). One of my fears is being so close to finishing the incevik and then being taken off and THEN having my VL come back. Like with other sx on tx, I knew a rash was a sx, but didn't expect this! I can do it! I have 16 days left on the blasted purple pills. I saw my psychiatrist yesterday (I go every 2 weeks). She looked at me and said "Oh Julie!" in a sad voice. She knows all about the sx btw. I gave her a copy of my labs and she said that the way I look makes sense because of the anemia and rash.
JoAnneh & Alan: when the rash peaked at weeks 9-11 did it go away AFTER you stopped the incevik or did it calm down a little on your last week? (My inference is that it went away after you finished.)
I still can't beleive I am almost done. I am trying so hard not to look ahead because the end seems just out of reach. One day at a time, baby, one day....
A friend of mine has a friend who is (was?) also on tx. Her doctor told her, "Give me a year of your life and I will give you 20." I love that quote.

The rash is a very common ailment in the Incivek triple. Some of us have actually had to quit early because of it. I used hydrocortisone cream, a skin lotion with aloe, Gold Bond cream, one tube of a prescription cream my doctor got for me, warm baths with Aveeno, and tried to never scratch. When I did scratch, the itch got much worse, and the rash looked "angrier". It was worst at around week ten. In fact, everything was worse in week ten. A week or so after finishing Incivek, the rash began to subside, leaving only the sparse red bumps caused by ribavirin. You have a lot to look forward to. Relief is just around the corner. Alan

Hey Julie,
You can go to the top and type in RASH in the search box you can find some other threads on this topic. I myself had everything but that one.. From what the other's have discussed on the forum this does go away after the completion of the Incevick but it may take another week or two to completely be gone from your system.. I wish you all the best and hopefully less scratching MJ

I'm sure the sbject line brings back horrible memories for some of you. I am near the end of week #10 and this rash is driving me nuts!!
When I finish the incevik, will it go away? It is on my FACE(!!) chest, arms, legs, back and shoulders. The anti-itch cream seems to be doing an ok job but it is not 100%. I also use ice packs and oatmeal baths. I fear that the rash will keep me from completing the incivek. Yes, my doctor has seen it but doesn't seem too concerned which concerns me. But then, I have no idea if he has seen worse. Is the rash blood work related at all or strictly meds?
Also, I am fairly new to this site. Is there a "search" button anywhere? I'm sure this topic has been covered before.
