DJ,
Before my husband started treatment I was TERRIFIED that he would be angry/drepressed with treatment and he hasn't been either at all. I read alot of posts of people who really struggled with aggression and anger and it freaked me right out before he started treatment.
Like others have posted, my experience has been that my husband has been much more "mellow". I was telling my father-in-law that my husbands nurse and doctor were asking how Rob's mood was etc and I said, "actually, I think he is NICER now" and my father-in-law totally laughed and said I think he is nicer too.
Rob was always a good guy but intense and a workaholic. He is for sure way more mellow now. He is spending more time with the kids and in general just doesn't have the energy to work up to being anything but mellow.

Thanks everyone. I know that it will get harder as time goes on. Just glad it wasn't too awful the first week. I wish I could fast forward life to a year from now and all of this was behind me. But at least I am in treatment. Waiting to get started was awful. It felt like it was never going to happen (and probably still would not have happened if I hadn't switched doctors). Again, I really appreciate everyone on this site. It helps so much to have others to talk to who know what I am going through.

I sure felt like I was loaded a few times during tx, but not the good loaded, kind of like 1000 lbs. on my back loaded.
Just remember the #1 thing for being on tx. NAPS ARE GOOD!......lol
Keep moving forward DJ. Good luck!
Have a great day!

Glad you`re having a nice easy start to your tx, DJ! It does tend to vary for everyone and even from week to week, so just go along with it and take it as it comes. Well done for getting started!
Best of luck and keep us posted! ~ Jill

I haven't noticed anything, and I won't be back to the doctor until 4 weeks for a check up (they said to call if I experience problems, but no real problems so far). No pressue in the ears, and I don't notice anything other than feeling very mellow. Over the weekend with the Pegatron, I had other side effects. But right now, with the Ribavirin, all I am noticing is the mellow feeling. And I would not feel comfortable driving like this. I can tell that my reaction time is delayed. I did go to the store this morrning about an hour before my morning dose because I wasn't noticing side effects then (it has been 11 hours since my last dose). But after taking my next dose I could tell driving would be a problem.

My side effects to treatment have not been what I have been expecting from reading other's experiences. I know I only started Friday and so things may be changing quite a bit. But I can only describe my reaction/side effects of the Ribavirin as "intoxicated' or 'tipsy'.
I feel no stress; in fact I feel downright 'mellow'. I haven't had a drink since I found out I have Hep C, and I was only a social drinker then, so a couple glasses of wine was all I need to feel tipsy. And right now, I am feeling like those two glasses of wine but all day long.
Has anyone else experienced that? Maybe the anger/rage part comes later. Right now, I couldn't get mad if I wanted too.
Of course, in a week, things maybe be completely different. But I was just wondering if anyone had ever heard of this type of reaction to the ribavirin (which I think it has to be that and not the pegatron because I had the pegatron injection on Frirday and did feel a little bad from it, but that has all passed now).
