Hi Dave,
Great news! Not entirely unexpected but always great to get the official nod. Rx certainly is an intense physical and emotional experience, and you have come out with a great attitude. Enjoy a happy, HCV-free life my friend. Hope you can drop in from time to time. Cheers

As I've been telling my clients today...I'm officially cured. I started out just under a year ago today. And it's definitely been an interesting ride. This forum has been an amazing lifeline of support and commonality (if that's even a word). I came on here needing a lot of help in...well everything pertaining to understanding the disease and how treatment worked. Many thanks to the peeps ahead of me who shared their insight and knowledge. And then as I treated read, and researched avidly, I grew to passing on what I'd gained to others. To me that's the beauty of this place. It's a community of paying it forward to those who follow behind. So I finished treatment extremely motivated to exercise after months of anemic activity. I started eating right and going to the gym 5-6 days a week. Funny thing- it had always been a struggle to maintain that discipline. You always drift off the committment and start making exceptions to the diet or schedule. But after the mental discipline it took to hold it all together during treatment (self, work, spouse, mental, etc.), well getting in shape was relatively easy. I took to heart the topic someone shared on sugar and how bad fructose is for our liver, let alone weight. I pretty much eliminated all disacharides and most carbs from my diet. From just doing that, I slowly dropped 20 pounds over the next four months. I'm too old to ever look like (shout out to our friend) Baushaus but I'm definitely in the best shape I've been in ten years. And after 25 years of being told to "watch" my blood pressure it's been in the normal range for two months. But all work and no play makes Jack a dull boy. Jen & I leave on vacation tomorrow to Nicaragua for two weeks to celebrate. I may be a little bit lazy. And I definitely plan to have a few drinks that have both Rum and juices with a lot of fructose! As always, all the best, Dave
