If you do not treat cast iron cook wear it could cause problem. I have treated all my pans and pots and been pots the old way and a I do not wash them in soapy water. If it is not treated properly, the easiest way to find out is leave a few drops of water in the pan and check for rust in a few days. If rust appears re treat.

I use them also! I've taken a no iron vitamin since I was diagnosed. On my last transplant center visit in January, Dr said I could take iron again. That makes me think we're OK. I'm still using up no iron vitamins. I get enough in my diet. And by cooking maybe? Hmmm. I wonder.

I am reading that too much iron is not good for the C-monster. Can iron cookware leach in too much iron? Iron frying pans are like my very favorite cookware in the world!! Please tell me I don't have to ditch them.
