Thanks all. I am still just trying to take it all in, but I knew going in the chances. I gave it my all and it just didn't work. There are many other people out there that have had a much harder time. I count my blessings and am glad things happened when they did instead of it being later. Who knows Bills, we may be on the next go around at the same time!!
Matt, that was a nice post - thanks from me too!!!

Hi Cayrn
That's hard to take I relapsed in Jan I was told to Remember it's not you that failed. That was a big help to me. Hope it is to you as well.
I think the inhibitors worked but the Interferon and Riba could't hold me the rest of the way Another thing that made me feel better was I've made up my mind to wait for a 1 or 2 pill cure. I had enough of the poison I'm glad to see all this excitement about the new drugs and almost want in but for now I wait and watch. My hope for you and me is next time is the last time.

Yes, I was reading about that trial too, Matt, and have just posted a link in the `News and Events` section. The race is on to develop the best treatment drugs, and great progress is being made on the experimental front right now. The future of Hep C treatments has never looked more promising!
Keep searching, Caryn, you have good reason to be optimistic!

Your future has not been written yet, at your age there will be a lot more options coming up with many, many more DAA's and other cutting edge technologies.
These drugs companies are chasing a money rainbow, the competition is feeding a race which will benefit all of us in the future.
For example Benitec Selects the Duke Clinical Research Unit as a Site for Hepatitis C Phase I/II Clinical Tria
RNAi-based therapeutics company Benitec Biopharma Limited (asx code:BLT) today announced the selection of the Duke Clinical Research Unit, the early phase unit of the Duke Clinical Research Institute (DCRI), Durham, North Carolina, USA as a site for its upcoming phase I/II first-in-man trial for TT-034 in Hepatitis C. TT-034 is being developed as a potential "one-shot-cure" for Hepatitis C

Your faith in future is very important for you well being, you are going to make it!

I know, I have been searching. There was one in another city, but it is closed. I am going to talk to my doctor when I see him and keep looking. Once I made the decision to treat it became a mission. I am not done!! All the best to you Z, keep up the fight!
Thanks Jill - I will keep everyone posted!

Hi Malcolm,
i have not had a biopsy. i have had two mris and blood tests and I don't think those are very accurate. I am 46 years old and will discuss a biopsy with my doctor when I see him. I would prefer not to wait to be honest so if I can get on a trial I will do so. I felt so run down pre tx.

Hi Caryn,
So you were stopped after 8 weeks. I guess if the VL was increasing there was little point in continuing to 12 weeks.Time to stop and consider your options. I can't find your age anywhere, and you don't seem to have a liver biopsy. You mention 'Stage 2-3' but only in relation to blood tests. It's probably a good time to think about a biopsy- this will give you an idea of how urgent Rx is. It will tell you whether you can afford to wait 2-3 years, or whether you should be trying to get on a Trial. Good luck!

WOW, sure wish you got a better outcome then this. At the very least keep in mind that HCV is such a slow moving virus that the new drugs can offer more hope.

My viral load has increased to 3000. Treatment has been discontinued. I am disappointed, but had a feeling when I had such a small decrease from 2 weeks to 4 weeks. I am still trying to take it all in at this point, but I wll be fine. I will update once I see my doctor to get some answers.

Sorry to hear you`ve had to stop tx, Caryn, that`s disappointing. You gave it your best shot though, and it`s not the end of the story, other opportunities will be along and you`ll get your chance to beat this thing once and for all.
A trial sounds like a good plan, although bear in mind that you won`t be able to do one that includes another protease inhibitor after being on the triple with incivek.
Take care and look after yourself, and all the best of luck! ~ Jill
