Lucy, my doctor didn't do the 8 week test either. Only 4 and 12. I was hoping they would do the 8 week because I am still on reduced RIBA and I was worried it might impact my vl. I guess I will find out at 12 weeks if I am still und.

Hi Lucy, well I wouldn`t worry about that. The 12 week viral load result, when you finish incivek, is more important than at 8 weeks, so I expect that`s why. For people doing tx with victrelis though, week 8 is more important because they have to do a 4 week `lead in` with peg and riba only.

I hope so too, Lucy! I know you are having a hard time and it`s not surprising that you are feeling so tired with such a low Hgb level. After you have finished the incivek then it should start getting easier for you. And the transfusion and riba dose reduction will help keep you going, I`m sure. You`re doing well so far, UND at 4 weeks is very good!
Rest as much as you can!

I am surprised why my RA didn't ask me to take VL test in week 8? I tried to ask to her, she told me I just need to take VL test in week 12. I see other memebers seem to take VL in week 4,8,10,12...........

Ok, well I can understand you being nervous about the transfusion after last time, but remember that things have improved a lot in the last 20 years, and all donated blood products are screened for the Hep C virus nowadays so you have no need to fear being re-infected.
So, do you have much longer on incivek now, Lucy? By my calculations you`ve been on tx for about 8 weeks now?

Hi Lucy, other members have also needed to have a blood transfusion when their HGB levels have dropped below a certain point, and it has made them feel a lot better. Cutting your ribavirin dose should help too. Are you taking 200 mg in the morning and in the evening now?
I hope you will be feeling better soon, let us know how it goes.
Best of luck, Jill

yes. I am taking 200 mg in the morning and in the evening. At the begining, I took 600mg in the morning, 400mg in the evening. cutting it from week 5 to 400mg in the morning, 200mg in the evening. but HGB and RBC keep droping down. so from week 8 cutting RIBA to 200mg in the morning, 200mg in the evening. I feel so tired every day.
But about blood transfusion, I am worrying about a little. The reason I got Hep C 20 years ago is blood transfusion. So I so worry about it.

And she told me I need blood fransfusion and set up time to do that next week.
