i am still amazed by the jump i have made in 7 days, just with my-doc-not-beliving-in-it supplement (ImmunoMAX AHCC)...next goal, bring WBC and neutrophiles to week 2 of tx levels!

will you do FibroScan too?
FibroTest could be option (it's just 50EUR for mathematical automatic formula, smart french money leeches), ask your doc?
i am always for all possible noninvasive tests ;-D

Lisa, yeah! i was reallly really anxious last nite...as i said, i never would ever dream i could fight to stay on interferon ;-D but seems i will make it...if it were 5th month of tx, i would be more relaxed, but 3rd month sounded really like damn, i am gonna loose at least 30% of svr change if i lower interferon dosage or skip few doses ;/
hope this supplements ain't giving me placebo fx ! ;-D (which lasts 2 weeks or so?)
when are your biopsy results due?

Hello Zlikster. great news, your WBC is up!. I see your MD doctor also recommended to eat more liver as nutrition.
I am very happy for this infromaion because in my daily diet, I usually eat pork liver. Maybe it is helpful to me. But Pork liver have very high Cholesterol. My Cholesterol level is normal.

after only a week of supplements, my WBC is bit up! This is first raise in WBC since start of the therapy
only 2 things i have added to my supplements: folacin tablet x 1, 3 x 2 Immunomax AHCC and nutrition wise i have included lots of popcorn. Popcorn and AHCC is recommendation from friend who went with interferon therapy for lymphnode cancer and had WBC problem too (advice from his oncologist). Folacin and Echinacea (which i plan to add from today) is advice from one MD doctor with experience in hematology, he also recommended to eat more liver as nutrition. I only took one B12 im shot (i was supposed to do it daily, but it was really painfull). I am not sure did these supplements/nutrition did this and what exactly raised it, but i suspect AHCC was the main thing. My doc on other hand was really skeptical round AHCC, instead to be happy if it is the thing that influenced raise of my WBC (well i guess docs can be stubborn about unconfirmed supplements too!), I am too skeptical tho about it's antiviral marketing, but maybe it can raise WBC a bit just nuff so i do not get reduced dose of interferon FIGHT IS ON!
in 2 weeks it's next blood check, i will continue to use AHCC (3x2), (from today) Echinacea 3x1, Folic acid x 1, 2 x 500 B12 (which did nothing previously!)
hope this information helps someone?
cheers!

i talked with a doctor (MD) who had publications regarding treating blood problems with mild radioactive water (he helped my gradnma a lot in just 2 weeks, tho with RBC/Hg levels)...he said nutrition wise to eat more liver? add folic acid and echinacea? i am not sure about his advice...anyone had any experince with nutritional/supplements and WBC raise?
thanks!

thanks Bouba, but i presume u live in a country with normal health care ;D
i will prolly have to buy Nupogen injection on my own seems so...my doc also doesn't wants to lower dosage of interferon, but i am not sure how to help her. Opt in for Vit B12 injections (daily), try to get Nupogena? i think i will try to get advice from some good immunologist first, i just don't like timeframe/deadline (lower dosage of interferon from this Sat and 2-3 weeks max to bring back levels or else)...
thanks!

I did Neupogen for the last 10 weeks of treatment after my neutrophils level dropped sub 0.75.
My doc did not want to compromise on Interferon dose.
It was a weekly injection, no big deal, but it had an immediate effect, increasing leucocits/neutrohils 10 times.
good luck!

my granlucytes are at 0.7, WBC 2.1...tomorrow i am doing blood test again for proper neutrophil count (last one was 0.9)...doc said it's time to lower interferon dosage, maybe from 120mg to 100mg. I got 2-3 weeks max to rebounce WBC otherwise they might halt therapy completly. She said Nupogena is a last resort, but i have to pass a lot of blood checks and comission before it and she is not that keen on using it. Other option is daily Vit B12 injections (since obviously B12 in pill form ain't doing job) ;/
RBC (3.76) and Hb (112) are doing fine on other hand
i am bit anxious now, shall i try some more supplements before resorting to B12 injections or Nupogena? Doc said i can try whatever OTC meds i think might help and if i want i can go to immunologists for consultations...i don't have much time, i would like to go thru this therapy fully, i am half way there ;(
