Sorry about the pain. I have periodic bouts of pain in places it shouldn't be, then disappears only to come back somewhere else. I suspect it might be something like fibromyalgia. Not sure if it is connected to my HepC or that I'm such an overly sensitive kind of guy.

I'm in severe pain in my upper back/ shoulders to the point of it becoming unbearable, I've a high pain threshold and reach the painkillers as a last resort but this pain is agonising. I have moved from paracetamol to cocodamol and am gradually increasing to a stronger and stronger dose. I started getting the pain while on tx and hoped it would go away once I'd stopped but its now been 4 weeks since I stopped. I'm going to make a doctors apt tomorrow but I know all he'll do is give me stronger pain killers. I'm just scared of taking anything stronger and the effect it'll have on my live.

Hi again Dopey, I would definitely go and see your GP, that level of pain must be really hard going for you. I can understand you not wanting to take stronger painkillers, but your doctor might be able to prescribe an anti-inflammatory, or maybe refer you to a physio, depending on what`s causing it. Have you tried rubbing any deep heat type of cream into it? Something like that might give you some temporary relief anyway.
Hope it eases up soon! Let us know how you get on.
