thanks for tip i will then skip 2w EOT blood check and go for 4w one, tho u know i like to keep stats detailed how blood count levels are recovering ;)
yeah i am up for PCR 24w and 48w and then annually if there is some indication re ALT/AST levels that virus might be active. Still, now goal is to finish tx with 120mcg pegintron...really anxious whats up with my WBC (next blood draw on 3rd of May)...anxious to see was the rapid WBC recover last time was just AHCC supplement reaction or there was something else involved. I suspect it really might be only AHCC.
check my blood stats

Hi Zlikster,
Just a word about your R arm vein. If it's hard and hurts, it's probably thrombosed (clotted) and may be infected (thrombophlebitis). This usually settles by itself, but if it continues more than 2 weeks and becomes worse, go and see your doctor.
I wouldn't get the EOT + 2 week test done. I'd wait to EOT + 4w to give the blood counts time to recover. As Jill said, I'd want an EOT + 24w PCR for reassurance. I'm sure SVR is the result for you! Cheers.
That`s a good goal to have, Zlikster, I`m keeping my fingers crossed for you! That`s a lot of blood draws you`re planning, but if it gives you reassurance then I`m sure it will be worth it .

well i plan to do pcr (on my own) 6, 12, 24 months eot (i did on my own 4w and 8w)...after that only if there are ALT levels raised on annual blood check. blood test i guess 2w eot, 4w eot until they are up to normal levels.
on 6th month EOT i do plan to repeat FibroScan (i must find it somewhere tho) and FibroSure and ultrasound.
Well it depends whether you`re going to have another PCR done at 6 months post tx as well, Zlikster. I think I`d want one just for reassurance, although I know it`s not always considered necessary nowadays if you`re still undetected at 3 months post. When I was on tx I didn`t have nearly as many blood draws as you`re having, only every 4 weeks, so it was a lot easier for me in that respect. The only PCR tests I had were at 4 weeks, EOT, and then 6 months post tx, but that`s just the way it`s done over here.

thanks Lisa, my mom redommended one local lotion (Jomelop E) which is made from olive oil, rosemary and some other herbs and is commonly used here for scars and burns. I guess i will give it a go, since i doubt i can find BioOil here
Jill, they are careful in private clinic where i do sometimes blood check (last time they used baby needle hehehe), but at state hospital (where i do PCR) they can be very sloppy...oh well, i think i have maybe 6 more blood draws (every 2 weeks and 2 EOT) and 2 PCRs (EOT and 3 months EOT) and thats it? ;-D
best

The brand we have here is called Bio-oil. It is for scars, burns, bruises all sorts. It absorbs really well! Make sure you don't have inflammation in your vein and get it checked as you don't want to get an infection. I too get bruised with injections and scar easily. Everyone is different though. I don't think I like the sound of the size of those needles eeek!

sorry i meant arms (front of elbow indeed). In private clinic they are extra careful and use small needles, but at state hospital (PCR) they usually do it very sloppy.
i got scars and yellowish tint round veins. My right arm main vein is bit hard and it hurts, so i am now using left one only.
you, have i presume, lab technicians that are careful with you veins
thanks Jim, i will be careful re sun!
@Lisa, what type of bio oil?

Poor Zlikster, what on earth are they doing to you?! And you with such a fear of needles too... I`m pleased to hear they are not ruining the veins in your hands at least, that would be a lot worse, and very painful! Ask them to be more careful with you!

Hi Zlikster,
Who's doing your blood draws? Hands are a last resort! Tell them to use the antecubital vein (front of elbow)- it's huge. I haven't got great veins, but after 48 weeks of blood draws from the same vein, it's still perfect.

If you do go out in the sun be careful. I think while on the meds it's not recommended. I know they told me to be careful, use mucho sunscreen. As far as the scars go, I use that scar cream/sunscreen. It's not cheap but it should help to keep the crs from getting darker.
My arms healed up after a few weeks.

I was wondering about that too. Arms and hands all scarred up from weekly blood draws. Maybe a sun lamp to try and tan the arms and hands. I would like some solution cause like Zlikster said long sleeves hard to do when the heat gets here.

Oh yikes, the only silly thing that came to my mind was make-up or transfer tattoos. You could try bio oil for a faster healing time, but I think it is just time that helps most. :S

my both hands looks like i am heroin user ;-( from constant blood tests (espec. PCR at hospital where they usually ruin my veins with heavy needles)
any creams or something to ease the look? summer is comming and i do not need another stigmatisation nor it's easy to wear long sleeves all the time when the heat strikes...
thanks for tip
