You can even try putting a touch of grated ginger root in the smoothy as well. Ginger is really good for upset stomachs and nausea. If your drinking ginger ale, make sure it is made with real ginger and not ginger flavoring.

You can use OJ in it and put in Olive Oil. As long as you blend the oil it will separate and mix with the other ingredients. So far so good with them, and my kids even like them ( although they don't get the ones with extra fat).

I like the smoothie idea! I'm going into my 3rd week and am having difficulties finding food with enough fat, that I can stomach. Nausea is about to drive me crazy! Do you have any smoothie recipes with enough fat, but without coconut milk? (I'm allergic to coconut, as well as all nuts)

Fat will be your friend for the 1st 3 months of Incivek TX, Ranelle. There are few threads here, which you may find useful. Just type "fat" in a search box for plenty of recipes ... Good luck!

I have not started treatment yet, but will in the next month. To get myself ready I have been trying to do the 20+ grams of fat diet to ensure that my body can process it. I have belly problems with too much fat at one time. Not only that, but I also am NOT a breakfast eater . While doing some research online I found a smoothie recipe that I can make the night before, so I can just grab and go the next morning! Thought I would share with everyone who is trying to find healthy and delishious ways to get the 20+ grams of fat!
2c Fruit of choice (I have been using frozen mango and a whole fresh banana)
1c WHOLE milk yogurt (9g)
1/2 c Coconut milk (2.25g) or 1/2c OJ
1TBSP Coconut Oil (14g)
Blend in blender and place in fridge. THe next morning you can place ice in it to make it a true smoothie or just mix it up and drink as is, either way is great! Makes about 16oz. Hope this helps!
