You are lucky to be at MSK as they are top line for NHL. Did hubby have a liver biopsy before starting triple and was he on Incivek or Victrelis? I would have thought treating the HCV was the priority rather than using poisons like rituxan. I'm sure you know that eradicating the HCV may cause marked regression of the SMZL. The poor guy must need a rest after all that treatment. Will you talk to your Hepatologist about access to the new DAA's? Unfortunately he won't be able to use the Abbott combo but the Gilead drugs would be an option. I'm sure you're getting good advice and I'm glad he's feeling better, but I'd persist in trying to eradicate the HCV and forget the spleen for a while. Good luck.

You both sound very positive people, there are some amazing drugs in the pipeline that will soon be available. I hope you both enjoy the lovely weather! x

Hi all and thanks.
My husband goes to MSK and his hepatologist works along with them. He underwent chemo/rituxan for smzl and then the triple therapy. His blood counts are all good and his liver is fine , spleen shrunk also. The triple therapy kept the lymphoma at bay but he was so anemic and lost a tremendous amount of weight. He feels so good now the thought of more treatment is depressing. We will see what choice he is given. The team of docs he has is outstanding. I cannot believe we have been doing this for 2 years come August.
We take one day at a time and it has been a beautiful Spring here so we are counting our blessing.

Hi Susan,
Sorry to hear hubby's treatment didn't work. Was there any regression of the SMZL while he was on Rx? Various studies show up to 20% of SMZL have HCV.
As his VL was 8400, that's not going to be a Lab. error.
Is there any plan to treat the SMZL, or do your doctors suggest waiting for new DAA's for the HCV? Good luck.

My husbands 6 month post treatment test came back showing VL of 8400.
The nurse gave him the call and he will talk to doctor on Monday.
The nurse said they may test again and it will be ND???
His viral load was 17 mil. at the beginning and he has non-hodgkins lymphoma so it is more complicated. He feels fine is fishing and running again that is the good news.
