Tonib,
Gosh, that sure sounds familiar. Get some sleep- take it whenever you can get it, and take a break and focus on something that you absolutely love...love to do, love to go to, etc. Forget this blasted treatment for a while, take a moment of stillness and slip away from the unpleasant realities of the hepC and of the treatment. Make that stillness your reality, just for a bit so as to heal and have peace.

Get some rest. Believe me I know how you're feeling, but I think your doctor has jumped the gun a little bit. It's too early to be talking like that. You have to give treatment every opportunity to work and expecting early success is nice but may not be realistic on your doctor's part. I achieved UND at 12 weeks, not 8 and I'm thrilled right now! My doc says my results are great and treatment WILL continue! Sleep well, talk to you tomorrow.

My doc told me that if I do not have at least 1000 or lower, or UND, we have to have a talk about continuing therapy, I am so confused and frustrated, my doc is on holiday, normally I get blood taken for cbc every 2 weeks and they wouldn't even give me a script for it till after this result...I just don't know anymore....this whole situation is making me crazy.... I just want to know....thats all, sorry to vent...but I am getting crazy here
so I am gonna try to sleep....I appreciate your info and it does make sense, and I think you and Mallani are right....

So why would you consider your week 10 shot as a potential waste? If you haven't achieved UND by week 8, why wouldn't you continue to week 12 as suggested? If you're UND at week 8 then depending on your own reaction to treatment and history, you may be able to end treatment at week 28 according to your info. If you aren't UND then you proceed to week 12 and test again. There's no reason to consider ending treatment at this stage. I hope you're UND now too but if you're not its not the end of the road. Right?

I agree completely. The first VL used to determine treatment progress and success while on triple with Victrelis is the 12 week mark for Peg/Riba and week 8 of Victrelis. It wasn't until that week that I was UND, not before. So I'm wondering if your VL was drawn several weeks early. It's nice to know how things are progressing but you're only now at your 9 week point of Peg/Riba. Didn't you start on 7/5? That's only 5 weeks of Victrelis, so you may be ahead of schedule. I totally agree that you should continue your Peg schedule and wait until your true 12 week VL labs to start making treatment ending decisions. It seems way too early to stop now or to even be considering it. You've come too far to stop now! Hang in there
Week 8 'KNOW YOUR PATH' Your HCP will take blood tests to see how long you will be on therapy. If I have UND at week 8 then I will finish treatment at the end of week 28
Week 12 If HCV VL is below a certain level...move forward...If HCV VL is above a certain level...HCP may discontinue therapy
This info is from Merck, they manufacture the vic

Here is the recommended treatment plan for triple tx with victrelis,

Week 12 If HCV VL is below a certain level...move forward...If HCV VL is above a certain level...HCP may discontinue therapy

Originally I was scheduled at 12 weeks, then when I went to the doc...there they were giving me the test.....This may be a determining factor....thanks for letting me know, I think your right!

Hi tonib,
Aren't you a bit early? The VL is meant to be done at 12 weeks, but from what you post, the blood for the VL was taken at 9.5 weeks. This is an important one for you so I'm surprised it was taken so early. Have I got the dates wrong? Cheers.

I am getting ready to take shot #10 and I can't help but feel that I may be just wasting my time. The doc said I may have to go off therapy if my VL is not at least 1000 or lower or better yet UND....AND MY RESULTS ARE NOT READY!!
Sooooooooooo will this be my last shot? Will I be laying on the couch tomorrow with a fever for nothing???
I know I should take 1 day at a time...however, this is crucial for the continuation of my therapy...I am trying to have faith, and I can only wait.
I contacted my lab....but the results are not ready and they said that test of this caliber must be given to the doctor before the patient can have access to results.
Stressing out..............

Hi, I suggest you continue as planned. If you miss your dose and you find out you're lower than 1000 you'll be behind doses. One day at a time...
ps - I know it's not fun, this therapy. I'm sorry you're having a bad time of it today.
