Caroline,
I am so happy for you and your husband!
Having a loving nurse certainly helps.
Time for you and your husband to heal from
Strain of treatment.
My doc said my chances were 85 percent
Chance of success by passing the 12wk VL
Test but like Dr. M said few relapse after
3 month post. I think we have 99 percent chance:)
My husband treated me great while on
Treatment. Just to think I wanted a divorce
About 6 years ago gives me the creeps.
We worked thru our difficulties and have a
Great marriage. Working thru the bumps
Of life made us become better people.
You have been a support for others on this forum.
Very happy for y'all!

Awesome news Caroline !! Yea the next one is supposed to be at 24 weeks. I know i am gonna get it done. Probably get one at 1 year too. I am weird like that.
After the nurse called me with 12 week results i had to go pick up a copy of the results to see it for myself.
Tell hubby he can rest easy now...
Have a great day ~BOB

Hi Caroline,
Fantastic news! You and hubby must be delighted. Basically that's it- very few relapse after 12 weeks (<1%) , but it's nice to get another VL at 24 weeks. I only waited until 28 weeks because I was in the UK, and wanted the test done in the same Lab. By all means get a Fibroscan if you can afford it, but don't expect much change. My doc said it takes at least a year to get any significant fibrous resorption, so I'll wait until then.
Go out and celebrate! Cheers.

Hey guys, my husband just rang our nurse to see if his 12 week viral load results were in. She did not want to say over the phone, but said 'that she was smiling and that we should be smiling very big'. So we take it that he has got the 12 week undetected. What an absolute relief. Thank you to everyone who has been so supportive during this journey. We see the specialist in 2 weeks for additional results such as ultrasound and fibroscan, but it is all looking positive.
Just 2 questions, is the next VL test at 24 weeks or 28 weeks? Does the chance of clearance rise substantially if UND at 12 weeks?
