Thanks for the replies! We do have the urgent care centers but they aren't open on Sundays or after hours during the week. They are all owned by our area hospital and they charge you ER prices. They see you quicker, but they charge you the same. Funny thing is they'll see you and often you're seen by a PA. If they question anything, they ship you right over to the main ER and charge you twice!! What a racket...
Anyway, the infection hasn't gotten out of hand, no temp yet. I'm taking some IBU and it seems to be keeping the swelling in check. (Crossing fingers) It would be nice if something would correct itself for a change. I'm getting tired of seeing someone for everything. It will sure be nice to see the day come along when I don't have a need to see a doctor. I've heard that they actually exist, lol!
Have a great evening and an even better tomorrow!!

tig,
sorry to learn of your ear infection. you're a fighter so you got this one. the quicker you get the meds the better for you don't want a fever. don't you have 1st care clinics w/ a $10.00 copay open daily & for situations when dr isn't available. better yet call your heptologist.

oh brady, sorry for your ear infection and the insurance probs. i'm trying to keep as healthy as possible post tx.
funny you mention this, after tx was over, my left ear and upper left molar would go through this nerve freakout intermittently with sharp pain. i went to the dentist and doc but they couldn't find anything.
last week i had a so called UTI that tested negative after a urine culture. its better today. i have a holistic thing that i do for it.
i think the wbc may have something to do with it, and i also think the cells filled with the rx are turning over, with new clean cells taking their place and this causes some chaos in the body. unscientific but logical in my way of thinking.
i hope you feel better soon, tiggly. a flower for you

Hi Tig, sorry to hear this, not what you were expecting at all after getting through treatment! You`re right though, it takes a while for your WBC levels to get back to normal levels, and I think most people feel pretty low by the EOT. We all expect to start feeling better straight away but you`re still in the early days of recovery.
Take it easy today and get in touch with your doctor in the morning. Best of luck, hope it clears up quickly!

Over the last day and a half I've noticed the increasing discomfort in my right ear. Actually it's quite painful inside, outside and the eustachian tube is bubbling, popping and beginning to close I suspect. I had problems years ago with terrible external ear infections primarily but the occasional middle ear problems as well. Always bacterial in nature and required serious antibiotic treatment. I haven't had a new infection in years and years, now this pops up two weeks post treatment. Always on the weekend and a high ER copay and deductible, so if it blows up it won't be until Monday or Tuesday at the earliest to get help. I've experienced a few surprises post treatment, this is just another surprise I guess. I'm wondering if anyone else experienced any ear infections post treatment? My WBC's are still quite low, so I suspect that isn't helping matters much. Nothing there to fight it myself!
