Hi Tim. I have a good friend of mine who is 44 yoa who has been on it for 1 year. He takes weekly shots and keeps his level right below 1000. He was at 380 before he started. He has nothing but good things to say about it. Though once you start... it's pretty much for life.

Hi Michael,
I have never had any lab work investigating "Low-T", but I've had the problem for several years, even before tx. But my brother [age 70] has tried Androgel, and reports having side affects such as swelling of the ankles, but no observable benefits. The testosterone thing is a double-edge sword, too little "T" robs the body, too much increases risk of prostrate cancer, adema and other horrors. What-to-do is a real dilemma.
I'd be interested myself to see more discussion on this.

Hi folks. Been a while and all is good. Coming up on a year post Tx cleared. All is good except libedo is gone and other symptoms of "Low-T" although my total is 445 which is in the lower normal range of the scale. I am 48 yoa. Funny thing is that when the Hep C was active (blood work including T check 1 1/2 years ago)..my T level was over 1000 (along with a hyper thyroid) and libedo/motivation was strong. I suspect 4 years of treatment attempts may have screwed my system up? I just had my blood work done and all was normal (including thyroid) but my T level has dropped by over half (1061 to 445) . My last liver biopsy was 1 year ago before the final Tx (which finally worked) and I was at stage 5 of 6 Ishak scale beginning cirrhosis. I went from a stage 2 to 5 in 3 years and 3 treatment attempts. I have read where the testosterone injections or patches are a safe alternative for the liver as opposed to orals. Has anybody had any experience with this? Trying to get my groove back. Thanks

Here is a Drugs.com link describing the Testosterone Cypionate Injection product.
