I took Mobic (Meloxicam) 15 mg/day for about 3 weeks for joint and muscle pain post-interferon. A saw a Rheumatologist who told me the NSAIDS are the most common cause of acute liver failure in Australia. They are often used for osteoarthritis (and don't work) and patients tend to increase the dose. He said stick to the 7.5 mg/day tablets, and only use them for a short time- no more than 3 days a week. I've stopped using them and my joint problems are improving. Check with your Hepatologist. Cheers.

Hello, NSAIDS in general can be liver toxic certainly in large doses and not indicated for long term use, especially in patients experiencing liver problems already. I wouldn't recommend taking it on a regular basis, just my opinion of course. I would speak to your Hepatologist and seek his/her advice on it. I've included some brief articles on the subject. HTH!
