congrats Suzi :)
it's amazing how quickly body can recover from Riba accumulation and how fast energy levels get back (i bet it's corleated with Hgb/oxygen levels). Hope you are enjoying your hcv free life! Next goal SVR12/24!

Hey Suziq
Super congrats on the SVR 4, its been real interesting to follow your trial. The Mercks combo certainly will be a great treatment for GT1's hope it gets fast FDA approval. Thanks for encouraging all our members who have considered entering HCV trials you have been a real plus in giving real world advise.
Pulling and hoping for your next 8 weeks to be successful.

Hi SusiQ, congrats on on your SVR4! So pleased to hear how much better you`re feeling now and thank goodness the stomach pains have cleared up, all very good news! Amazing what a difference it makes once the virus has gone and the meds are out of our systems, that`s when you can really see how worth while it`s all been.
Thanks for sharing this, you`re an inspiration to us!

Well, just got my 4 week post treatment call. Still UND!!! Enzymes 29 and 34. My HGB is back up to 14.2. And I am finally feeling better this last week. No more stomach pain. Sure miss my naps. Go lie down and sleep about 20 minutes now. Have done 2-3 hour naps for a number of years. It is not so much more energy as it is more stamina. And a general feeling of well being. Guess the riba is mostly gone.
I feel incredibly fortunate to have gotten this trial and feel the way I feel now at the age of 79. I can tell a difference from the way I have felt for a number of years. Since I had no real pain from Hep C, I thought it was not affecting me. But with no virus for over 4 months running around in my system (or pills or riba for one month), I can tell a difference. Just hope for no relapse. My coordinator said she has not seen a relapse at the center past week 4, but that most of her info was on Gilead trials. Merck will be doing another Phase 2 trial in a few weeks. Think she said it is for 1B--didn't say why only 1B. I am 1A. I get more hopeful each time I get a UND.
These new meds are really amazing !!!!!

Hello Suziq
Sad the hear your still having the stomach issues. Have you isolated the cause, food, this years flu, or other causes? Has your study doctor helps with any suggestions?
Most of the time after so many years of living on the planet we kind of get a intuitive sense of what has caused it. Perhaps your body is adjusting to not having to deal with the HCV anymore, whatever it is you will stabilize and feel better real soon.

Hi SuziQ,
Sorry to hear about the gastro problems. Stay in bed and relax after what your body's been through. You guys in the Northern Hemisphere are having it tough. I'm trying to decide whether to play golf today as the forecast is 37C. I don't handle the hot weather as well as I did. Good luck for the VL, but I suspect you won't need it. Cheers.

I was supposed to go for week 4 EOT labs today, but it is postponed until Thursday due to possible ice storm.
I spent the first 2 weeks EOT in bed most of the time. Bad gastro problems last few weeks of tx and they got worse after EOT. Another trial participant posted me privately that she was having similar problems. She was still UND at week 4 EOT labs. I am finally beginning to feel better. Still have very little energy. Felt good for most of treatment.
