Hi John and Hepcat,
Thanks guys! Matter of fact, I posted recently that my 6 month VL came back undetected as well, the report came back SVR 21 and they consider me cured, yeah! It's posted somewhere here, I mentioned it a week or so back. It's a wonderful thing, and a day you won't forget. I appreciate the congrats and am anxious to hear about yours as well! Good luck...

As Rybronco states below .5% to .7% , let the celebration begin. Im really happy for you and all on this forum that have gone UND. Everyone keep up the fight. RC

Tig,
The less than 1% is actually .5% to .7% in the long term SVR follow up studies. It ain't coming back!!
I really appreciate your post related to the worldwide eradication of this disease, the importance of support and advocacy, and most importantly the appreciation of those who fought this fight before us.

Really happy for you Tig, the knowledge, compassion, and encouragement you given others here is really appreciated. Hoping some day to join you in finding SVR. It's been a long hard road. Like you, I've been living with this for 35 years. Hoping I started the meds in time to see improvement in my brain fog and overall health. Be well.

Thanks guys! I really appreciate all of the kind words and congrats!! I'm preparing for the next VL and if the rates of success are accurate, there's 1% or less chance of relapse following SVR12. The prospects of a lasting Hep C free future are quite good and after approx. 35 years with this disease, I can tell you my body is doing a happy dance inside, realizing this beast is dead. What a relief...
The important thing now is that we get this same opportunity to every corner of the planet! The ability to control and ultimately destroy this debilitating and sometimes deadly disease is upon us. I feel a personal responsibility to help educate and provide the moral support often necessary to deal with this illness and again when the decision to treat is made. Nobody knows what it's like better than WE do. If we can help one person get through the day better informed or feeling better physically, then we've done the right thing. I encourage you all to take a moment and look at our User list (top of page) and go back to the beginning of this forum, note the dates of membership. Look at the time given, invested in the futures of every member here, past and present. Every single one of them deserves our thanks. Some of them still struggle with this disease, but now after years of trying, years of support, when the treatments often failed, and through much effort pioneering treatments for all of us, I hope this is their time too. Never forget, we're all in this together, until the last SVR comes in.... Best of luck to all of you!

That is so true Tig ... It's not enough that we have made it to SVR12 but we must at every opportunity fill out those surveys and petitions to try and speed up the process so others might have a chance to get to these new drugs earlier. A short while ago I was involved in a CADTH HCV Therapeutic Review and I got to put forth a lot of views on the current state of therapy but for me it was more to put pressure on the HEP C board and the FDA to fast tract these new drugs. I managed to get a lot of my views put forth on the submission so I was pleased with that. I am a very lucky guy to have had the chance to try the new treatments and I hope very soon we will all be cured and enjoying a new lease on life. The people on this board are second to none and have made my journey so much easier that I want to personally thank you all. Thx Tig

Thank you so much everyone! I can't express my appreciation enough for all of the kind words and wishes for success. It was a very long journey that I hope to be over with. My other hope is to see all of you follow me quickly and positively to a similar end of this chapter of your life. We all can be advocates for the cure, advocates for testing and strong supporters of each person dealing with these same questions and concerns. Be the voice for those that don't understand the dangers of this disease, encourage education, and help destroy not only the disease, but the harmful stigma that continues to accompany it. To destroy the Dragon, you need to be a Warrior against it. Everything you can do to spread the truth makes a positive difference in someone's life and yours! Thanks again...

Hi Everyone,
After a week's delay my EOT +12 week viral load results are in. I'm happy to tell everyone that the test came back as "UNDETECTED"!!! AST 21 ALT 19 I must admit that I was beginning to be concerned. The delay in getting results when that information means so much can really wear on your nerves! So this is considered an SVR 12, woot! The likelihood of a sustained response at week 24 is high according to reports, so my hopes are high that after 35 years, the Dragon is dead...
My thanks to all of you that stood by my side as I went through hell to get where I am today. Now let's get busy and put the rest of your names on this list.
