No, not that I'm aware of. Anytime you start this treatment or any other, your doctor will review your history, as does the prescribing pharmacy. I was prescribed AD's during my treatments and the available options were quite large. I wouldn't be concerned about this. The new treatments have relatively mild reported side effects, so I believe your chance of any issues like that are very low. Good luck!

Hi Michele, please don`t be scared! You`ll be doing an excellent treatment combo with few side effects and for only 12 weeks...read how other people are doing and be encouraged by their experiences. I understand how worried you are about your ongoing problems with panic and anxiety and I hope you have good medical and social support set up for that, it will help a lot.
Try taking it day at a time rather than worrying about the whole process in one go, and remember that you can talk to us anytime, we`ll be here to give you support all the way through. Make sure you`ll have time set aside for mood boosting relaxation, and be kind to yourself during you treatment. Once you get started I`m sure you`ll be relieved you did. ~ Jill
(PS. Don`t worry about posting in the wrong area...I`ve moved this thread now.)

Michelle, I am 2 weeks from end of treatment and it has not been bad at all. I told my Dr's office I was not comfortable attending a class. They were fine with it & had me come in on my own to go over the instructions. It really was not a big deal, but I did not want to be in a room with other people. Please speak up if you feel this way, they should be able to work with you!
You will be fine! It is going to be over before you know it.

Hi Michele,
I am also GT 2, my viral load prior to treatment was 1.9million and my ALT/AST have always been around high teens to 33 at highest. I am on the same regimen, Sovaldi and Ribavirin. Today is week 10 for me which means I only have 3 full weeks to go. As others previously mentioned, there are some side effects from the Ribavirin but they are manageable if you're aware of them and discuss them with the people here and with your doctor. I have continued to work full time in a demanding job and aside from lack of motivation at times and fatigue, the meds haven't affected my work.
This is a totally do-able treatment! This is my first attempt at treatment, thankfully my numbers have always been good which allowed me to hold off until the interferon free treatments were available. Anytime you get concerned about this treatment, just think about all those out there that still have to do interferon! We may have some annoying side effects at times but it's nothing like those folks for whom I have the utmost respect.
The main thing with getting through this treatment is being prepared, having a plan such as when you will take your meds each day, what foods/drinks you need to bring to work, etc. Drink plenty of water (more than you normally drink) as it will drastically reduce the side effects of the Ribavirin. And take it one week at a time. I literally printed out calendars for each month and have them marked (counting down the days). I write the times, AM and PM each day that I take my meds as it helps keep me on track and stay motivated. My goal was that it would also remind me if I took my meds which it did until last week when I did have to pour out 100+ riba pills and count them but thats just because i'm coming down the homestretch now and the Riba has a tighter grasp on me. But it's still manageable because there is a light at the end of the tunnel.
One week at a time, stay compliant with your med times, do your blood work and follow ups and read through here as there are several others with the same GT and very same treatment. You're not going at this alone.

Michele, no need to worry, these meds aren't nearly as rough as in the past. Just be Thankful you have a great opportunity to get rid yourself of this virus. Just do the regimen as prescribed and in a short time your life will forever be changed for the better. There can be side effects primarily headaches, fatigue, insomnia, but with the help of your physician these can be overcome. Keep focused on the prize at the end of treatment. There are many good folks here that are willing to share their knowledge, experience, and encouragement. Most here have had some of the thoughts you're having now. You'll be fine. Each day is one closer to being rid of this insidious disease. Glad you're getting started.

Michelle, Happening so fast is what makes this new treatment so easy to do. I tried once before to beat Hep C with a six month treatment on Interferon, only made it four months because I quit. This new treatment is 3 months. Plus it works.
I am three weeks from end of treatment and this has been so much easier even with the dreaded interferon. You can do it.

Michele, calm down. These new treatments have minimal side effects and very high rates of SVR. You'll do fine. There are lots on them on this forum, and fatigue seems to be the largest complaint. You shall wiz through 12 weeks.
