Hi Angie,
There is often a rise in the liver enzymes following treatment, particularly Interferon. Interferon is considered a chemotherapy agent and chemotherapy itself can damage liver cells, thus causing a release of the enzymes in question. Given time, they will drop into the range desired. So don't worry, it will all happen once the healing process begins! You've got every reason to be thrilled with your results, I sure am!! Relax and enjoy your success....

Hi Angie, that`s great news, congrats!
You`ve only just finished your tx so you need to give your body a bit more time to adjust and then I`m sure you`ll see your liver enzymes dropping back. You`ve been on some very powerful drugs and we all recover at different rates, so try not to worry and don`t expect too much too soon...the main thing is that you`re still Und, and that`s fantastic!
Take care, and keep us posted.

Just got my end of treatment labs and HCV is still NOT detected! All my labs except LFTs are within normal range. My levels all steadily dropped but given the short tx duration, they didn't get below normal. Very thankful for all those things. My only concern now is that my ALT is 160 & AST is 106. That is higher than pre TX. I'm hoping they drop now that the meds are done. I think maybe the sovaldi taxed my liver a bit. All other LFTs were normal range aside from those two.
