Many thanks, all. The sense of community here is overwhelming at times. I'm not secretive about the disease or treatment, but as sympathetic as the unafflicted may be, they really don't "get" it, if you know what I mean. Thanks!
Greg - Similar on the platelets, yes. I spiked about 20k during the first part of tx, but was pretty much back to baseline by week 6 and remain there at present. Total bili is currently 0.4, which is lower than it's been in I don't know how long.
Malcolm - Funny. Here's hoping I have 64k of the highest quality available.
Matt - Your time is coming, my friend. Hope you stick to your plan and pursue tx w/riba for as long as they'll give it to you. Still too many unknowns on that one.

Hey Wayne
That news just made my day, super congrats on the 4 four week UND results its the hardest and most important test to show good on. You definitely should do the Hokey Pokey now and the platelets will rise in time.

Congratulations Wayne. I don't think there is any question that you have "turn(ed) yourself around" at the Hokey Pokey Clinic. In addition to your generous support of everyone else on this forum, you take the prize for the best avatar! It gives me a chuckle every time I see it!
Onward to SVR!

Congratulations Wayne really happy for you. My 4 week labs are coming next week. Hoping and praying I remain UND. Sounds as though we are somewhat similar with the platelet count. Mine went up during the first 6 weeks of tx. By eot et they had dropped, though still in the low "normal" range. I'm certain you have "quality" platelets." My ALP was also elevated (normal range) and bilirubin was at 1.2. Will be watching and hoping to see you have improvements in other quality of life areas, please keep us posted. Be well sir.

Hi Wayne,
Great result, and you should be quietly optimistic. The platelets can be a problem for older cirrhotics. I'm back up to 160,000 from my pretreatment level of 210,000. Not really a problem, many non- HepC patients suffer a gradual decline in platelets with age. An Haematologist friend says the number is not important, it's the 'quality' of the platelets. Cheers and good luck for the 12 week VL.

I remain UND @ 4 weeks post. Most lab values are well within normal range, the exceptions being ALP (marginally high) and platelets remaining well below normal. Not unusual for cirrhotics, I believe, but looking forward to future improvements. This is a huge hurdle for all on the journey to SVR and I'm appreciating every moment of it. Thanks for being here.
So good to see you remain UND EOT+4 Wayne.
Thanks and best of luck, RC. Been wondering how you were doing.
