So, you're cirrhotic. No big deal, you'll be first in line for the new drugs.
It would have been useful information to have, before starting your last round of treatment. I can't understand why this is not done routinely now that Fibroscan is more available. Cheers.

P.S. On second thought, if this is the same doc that put you on Interferon for the 4th time instead of giving you the S/O option, I'd consider getting a new doc who will feel a little bad about your struggles and will be highly motivated to help you kill the beast. But, that is entirely your call.

Hi JLynch:
That means cirrhosis but it isn't too bad. There are definitely people with higher scores; mine is around 14. My doc considers the cut-off 12.5 but some call it at 14.5.
The good news is having cirrhosis means you will be first in line for treatment. Hopefully you can retreat with the Sovaldi/Ledipasvir combo come October. I'd make an appointment with my doc for mid October to start discussing that. Gives you a couple of months off to regroup. Everything will be okay, it really will.
Oh, the other good news is that your doc will probably feel real bad for you, and bust his butt to make sure you get the good stuff as soon as possible. :)
