You can afford to wait. We've got a bunch of Geno 3's here that had failed Peg/Riba. Some are cirrhotic. Sovaldi won't be available for them, so hopefully another drug combo will be approved in the next year.
Very frustrating for all. Cheers.
Let's hope so, how disgusting that people that need it are having to wait. I can't believe they are waiting for people to get to the point they are near death. AWFUL!

Hi guys,
Thought I would give an update. My Doctor called today to tell me Solvadi will not be released now until January 1st 2015. This is the third date now! I am now getting annoyed with the saga. Apparently it is the insurance companies trying to wait until the rices lower. My Doctor was honest to say to me, it will probably be delayed again. Poor woman had to call all her patients to let them down.
Apparently there is a price on health.
Moaning over.

Hi Lisa
To answer your question on my recovery. Last Friday I got up at 5:30 put a load of cloths in the washer, went across the street to the park and practiced my tai chi forms. Cloths done put them in dryer did 50 push ups all in one set to get the blood pumping. Cloths dried walked a mile to the store and a mile back. Today I did the cloths ,tai chi and push ups no walking. My knees told me it was gonna rain. I have a lot of arthritis so I have good and bad days. Last blood work was eot+7 weeks still undetectable. There not going to to blood again until eot+ 6 months.
Thank you for all the support. :)
That is great Scruffy, you seem to be doing great! I can't manage 50 push ups without treatment lol!
Do keep us updated on your final 6 months draw....exciting stuff! :D
PS: I hope you mum is doing well! x

Hello Lisa!
Makes good sense to do the 12 week triple after so many delays, get it done with and then you`ll be free to move forward. I also have so much respect for people like Malcolm who battled with 48 weeks, my 24 weeks of peg/riba was certainly enough for me!
Wishing you all the best of luck, September isn`t far away now. Keep in touch, you can do this!

Hi Loopy,
The 12 week Sovaldi triple will probably be easier than the 24 week Sovaldi/ Riba. The SVR rates seem the same, so all the best.
Thanks Mallani,
Good to see you're still on here :)
I think 12 weeks is enough for anyone, god knows how you all got through 24-48 weeks, astounding strength is all I can say. :)

Hi Lisa:
I was just wondering how your tx was going and here you are! So, you start next month? September will be here before you know it. At least it is 12 weeks instead of 24. Glad you are doing well.
Thanks folks,
I know I can do 12 weeks, it is not exactly a joy, but 12 weeks....the countdown is amazing next to 24.
You're right Scruffy, I exactly know what to expect now, and it takes the fear out. If I panic, I will have a large tub of ice-cream and a cuddle and come cry to you guys. ;)
I'm just greatful that we have Sofosbuvir to half the time and align with Geno 1s.
How is your recovery going?
Great to see you both....arghh the lovely Hep C family, what would I do without you all? :D

Hi all,
I have been pretty busy lately so I thought I would pop in.
Well, I still haven't started treatment. I can't have Solvadi until September. The damn insurance companies are making their "plans" because of costs, so Gilead won't be supplying until then.
Since I have been delayed further we are going for the 12 week triple combo. Since I had very fast neutropenia and anemia last time I will be on watch from get on. I want to be done this year and this time I am forearmed and forewarned. My doctor believes that the Ribaviren is my problem and perhaps 12 weeks is much better than 24. Either way, this will be my last attempt and if I don't succeed I wont do Riba again I will wait for something better. :)
I hope everyone is well, I have missed reading the posts and seeing some familiar faces!
