No I don't have the one as Kardashian :), but yes I will have it done in the butt! Thought it was allowed only in thigh, stomach and upper arm area.

If you happen to have a butt like Kim Kardashian's you are really in luck. I doubt KK would even notice it. lololol

Again, I don't know anything about your situation, but if you have someone who can inject the inf in your buttocks, it may be an option?

Hi Doni:
Have your physician brother-in-law give you the shot in your butt. Don't worry, he's seen plenty of asses before.
Alternative, ask your wife to do it. The butt was, hands down, the best site for me!
Thanks for the confirmation Isis. I was starting to think I had given Doni a bad suggestion.

Hi Doni,
Sorry your first shot was so painful, the arm really isn`t a good place for it to go. Most people find it`s easiest to use the belly area either side of the navel where there`s usually some flabby tissue to pinch up, and use alternate sides each week. Some people prefer to do their shots in their thigh.
Here`s some information published by Roche on the correct way to perform a subcutaneous injection of peginterferon. Scroll down to section D. 111 for a diagram of the recommended areas to use and step by step instructions...
Choose a more suitable place next week and I`m sure it will be a lot easier for you!
relay good info Thanks Jill Nice to see you on too. :)
Thanks Huey, I`ll post it in the Knowledge Base too. I`m sure we already have this info on the forum somewhere but it`s good information to bring up again for anyone who needs it.
I`m still hovering around keeping an eye on how you`re all doing, don`t worry! Good to see you too!

I always pinched up some skin and went all the way in. Used a 5/8" 28 gauge. But it really depends on how much tummy fat you have.

Probably I got into my muscle, which hurt. I bought insulin syringe with a needle which has size of 30GX1/2". Should I insert the half or full of the needle into my stomach?

I did my first shot yesterday in my arm with no problem. I already use my abdomen for insulin shots and was told to use each arm and leg once per month.

I did 24 weeks interferon and I was told to do the injections in the thighs and on either side of the belly button rotating each week. Sometimes there was bruising but was gone by the next time I got to that location 3 weeks later.

Darn Doni, I'll bet your arm does hurt!
I don't know anything about Interferon but I remember every since I was 9 years old, my mother would have me give her insulin injections in the buttocks because her legs and other places she could reach got so sore from being stuck day after day.

Hi Malcolm,
Actually I feel like my shoulder will fall off. Never will do on my arm again!

Hi Doni,
I wouldn't use the arm. The abdominal wall around the umbilicus is easier. I had a chart with 6 areas, and I marked them off each time so I could rotate the sites.
Over the years, I gave myself 349 Interferon injections ( not all were Peg.) Only a few caused slight bruising. It's a subcutaneous injection with a fine needle, so it shouldn't cause pain. Cheers.

Had my first shot yesterday. My sister's husband, who is a doc did it on my arm, and my shoulder hurts bad now. Had chills and fever all night. I hope that's all sx I will have.
