Hi Paul,
Are you taking the Trazadone for sleep? I take 50mg Trazadone for sleep and don't have the priapism any more often than the more natural 'occurrences'.
I had been taking 10mg Ambien (for longer than recommended) and my Dr. finally cut the dose to 5mg, in the wake of the well publicized car crash incident involving Kerry Kennedy. The 1/2 dose didn't work well for me, so I fell back on the Trazadone and actually does a better job, in that my eyesight isn't blurry for half the morning.

Hi Paul,
Your story is confusing. If I understand correctly, you had a 48 week course of the Incivek triple, but relapsed.
Now you're being re-treated with just Peg. and Riba? Doesn't sound right, particularly in the USA
If you're on Trazadone and suffer from priapism, the trazadone should be stopped. There are better drugs for anxiety.
Some more information would be useful. Cheers.

This is my second time to be treated first time viral load was 2,135,032 genotype 1a/1b with stage four cirrhosis and was placed on peginterferon alfa-2a, ribavirin, and incivek. the next 12 months sucked......HARD. about 6 months ago I started feeling pressure in the right upper abdomen by the time it took to get the referral from my pcp and getting an appointment with the specialist it was another 5 months with the pressure evolving into extreme discomfort and pain, swelling of the right upper abdomen long story short I am back on the pegasys and the ribavirin this time due to the discomfort they prescribed pain medication which causes insomnia has anyone been down this road the pain medication actually works so I can actually go back to work just don't care for the itchy scratchy's so the Dr. prescribed trazadone however the side effect is an erection that won't go away and can be a tad bit uncomfortable and embarrassing ........... does anyone been thru treatment twice with pain and a sleep meds that well uhm yeah well you know what I mean
