I don't use disposable razors or toothbrushes, but I do swirl both my razor and toothbrush in a cup of bleach for about 30 to 45 seconds after I use them. Then I rinse them off and they are ready for the next use.

I wouldn't be concerned at all about reinfecting myself. Even after SVR, there remains the possibility of a random viral particle hiding somewhere that theoretically could be problematic for someone else, if they came in contact with our blood. That has nothing to do with your choice to use disposable grooming items though, because whatever you use will require you to monitor safe use of them. Not for your own safety, but those that might use them unknowingly. Regardless of SVR, we will always have a positive HCV antibody test and even with an undetectable viral load (SVR), there is a possibility of relapse, however small, that requires us to be conscious of it.

Hey Doni,

Not an RVR, but close my friend! They are still referring to a week 4 undetectable as an RVR by the way. I was just reading a 2014 EASL report on the COSMOS studies where they continue to refer to it. They also mention that it's not indicative of SVR outcome but personally I think differently (imho)! It's a sign that your Tx is kicking some major viral butt! Congratulations Doni, looks very promising to me. Keep it up my friend, you're doing great!

RVR is old school, Before Sovaldi,  But It is the = to RVR with new drugs.

I started triple therapy with Sovaldi/Pegintron/Rebetol on 15th August. On 28th September I took HCV RNA test and got result <15 UI/mL. The report says: No measurable signal - no HCV RNA detected!

I am so happy the treatment is working on me, but I was wondering if this is considered RVR with respect that I took the test not exactly after month but 1 month + 10 days.
