That is good news, Jen, and you must be so pleased to be starting Harvoni treatment soon after such a long wait! Yes, you`ve been very lucky to have had no symptoms after having Hep C for so long and I can understand why you opted to wait until now.
I can`t see any reason why Harvoni would delay the healing process on your hand, although that certainly might have been the case if you were doing a peg/rib based tx combo, but if you do get any problem with it do let your doctor know.
Best of luck to you, and do keep us updated on your progress!
I have been extremely lucky not to have any symptoms. As big as a sissy as I am I knew I would never be able to handle the riba/interferon regimen. I mean I can't even take a pain pill without getting sick.
I have been waiting here for so long and waiting for the right thing to come along. I started in earnest to get ready for this by doing all the testing required like so many of you have had to do. yeah, even the blood draws put me on the floor a few times. I was like, "I'm gonna need a cookie now" Did I tell you I'm a big sissy?
My Doctor was waiting to put pen to pad for 2 years so when the fda approved havoni we were all set.
I just had surgery on my hand and wondered if anyone knew if taking harvoni made it harder to heal. yep advil does me just fine for small stuff like that. ;)
I'll keep you up to date because I know you are all wanting as much info as possible.
you are my heros for long and I can't go to battle without reinforcements like you. Hug
Jen
ps: I have express scripts and they are doing 0% co-pay as I am already finished with my out of pocket deductable.

Great News Jen!
Consider yourself very lucky! Which insurance do you have? I bet your side effects will be cake to manage. I hope so anyway. Keep us posted.

The Specialty Pharmacy called and told me that my first 30 days of Harvoni will be here on Nov 5th. I am quite excited to be rid of this thing that haunts my life and threatens my health. I am hoping for the best and will let you know how it goes as time goes on. I'm not a big talker but I watch here and read
I wish you glad tidings as I prepare to battle the dragon.
